Unfortunately, I'm not sure if this HM-R defect is as wide-spread as the RD EZ-8 defect. Hacchaka and the others that usually detect these defects have not posted their stuff to get some confirmations/verifications, yet. Well, oughta check your orders when you get them, at least. This set and the HM set are close in color but not exactly the same. HM DYRL and Strike Cannon on the left, HMR TV in the middle, and HMR DYRL on the right. Yeah I was hoping to just swap the arm armor from an HM set to use for my white DYRL VF-1S but I'll just use an entire HM set or HMR set of Strike Parts. (The skull seems to be migrating higher up the heat shield with each release...) She looks good out of the box but needs a little work. Just gotta decal her up now. I'd have to compare to some F-14 markings to see what the right scale would be, but I want to guess 1/100 might do the trick, if you can even find that size. Naturally, the third party decal sheet with the plethora of skull insignias in a myriad of sizes is the one decal sheet I can't currently find. Otherwise yeah it would be a simple matter of stripping the skull off, touching up with a little black paint as needed, and putting a new decal on.
