Arcadia VF-5000G

It appears they may have angled it up by like 2 or 3 degrees... and maybe raised/extended the standoffs/mounts by 1mm or 2mm barely noticeable...

EDIT:
I was also thinking they sized down the cone of the booster by maybe 5% and/or made it shorter, or set it back.

Thanks! :good:

Hope we'll see new photo updates after the photoshoot soon as per MrK's twitter post with the photo above. ;)

As long as it's the darker scheme seen in the more recent photos, I actually really don't mind it.  A little gaudy, but nothing like the neon turquoise it used to be.

I'm just thrilled to see a NEW design after.. how many years has it been?

If we're not going to count Arcadia's remodeling of YF-19, VF-0, and Sv-51. Can we agree that it's already been 10 years? 10 years since VF-4 and if we're going to consider VF-0D as a new design, then it's 5 years.

Wonder will there be a premium and standard or will they just with just 1 kind?

It seems like they save their Premium Finish versions for the more popular hero Valks, like Roy's, Hikaru, Isamu etc.  Though the did do the Elintskeer so I suppose there's a possibility they'd do a PF for this one.

They're also doing a premium finish Tomahawk destroid with weathering.

Not quite true.  They only claimed to put that out to contrast the old weathering version and "gauge interest."

Ah. then that's too bad. It looks way better than the old weathering version. Especially if it comes with all that tampo on it which the old one didn't and one would have had to put the stickers over the weathering which would have looked odd.

I too wish that they would have a release schedule and pricing so that I can plan ahead.  I am also hoping that this will be available for those outside Japan(specifically USA) to order from Arcadia direct, or available at US e-retailers like BBTS or Amazon.  I really enjoy Arcadia designs, but the prospect of having to pay 50000 yen plus 15000 yen shipping if I want to get a USED VF-0D Premium Finish version is just too expensive for me.

Not anymore.  This isn't SDFM or DYRL, there's no reason it can't be sold domestically (other than ugly markups.)

Plus it's Arcadia, not Bandai, and so far I haven't seen their stuff sell out right away during the PO period. I'm sure part of the reason is the higher price they tend to charge, and they probably don't limit production runs in advance the way that Bandai does, but subject matter counts for a lot, too. I've only done the F5 thing twice with Arcadia, and both were for items sold exclusively through their website. First was that "hey we found all of these extra toys and kits in a back room of the warehouse" sale, where I managed to grab an SF-3A Lancer II kit. Second was for the plush gunpod, which remains my most-stupid-but-most-fun Macross purchase ever.

I got to see it in person. I'll be honest, it looks smaller than I imagined. I'm not talking g about it in actual scale, I just imagined it being quite large.

That said, it does look very nice. It looks like some of the colored parts were casted in that color, not painted. My photos probably suck, but here's a couple...

The 5000 is about the same size as a VF-1.
