Are those stickers or water decals?

Arcadia stickers. In fact, Arcadia's pursue to only release vanilla toys with stickers remains a big deal breaker for me. I usually avoid Arcadia unless it's a PF.

But since this is an SDF....

A close up on what did with the decals

Almost done. Looks absolutely stunning. Still researching on the luminous markings, but I'm good as it is now

Looks like the stickers have been delayed until December. I still have an order in for them, but the listing isn't active to order more. I asked the seller if a new listing will be added, and I'll link it here if/when it is.

The scaled valks and destroids are still available to order though.

I got my order today from Nin-Nin Game. DHL Duty Free shipping came out to $140. Did the original Arcadia release come with hard Styrofoam packaging? This one came in soft Styrofoam and didn't feel difficult to take out or put back into the box. There was also a warning sheet that was in both English and Japanese and I thought the manual would be dual language too but it was in Japanese only.

I see HLJ is once again using 30% as the duty rate. They are just dying to lose all their US customer business.

just fyi.

Seems HLJ has lowered their duties-rate to 20% (7960y) as of this posting:

Not sure when they started doing that, but it was at 30% before (11940y)...

Having never owned an Arcadia product before and wanting something large and detailed for my display, my first impression out of the box was not great. I knew how small it was from the reviews, but of course seeing it in person and handling it is quite different. It's tiny. Also, having to assemble the small bits yourself for that price is not great either. I wasn't going to bother complaining about it here, but that Forbes reviewer going on about how huge it is bugged me. It's not huge at all. But the reason I decided to buy it is because I really wanted an SDF-1 in my collection and that Bandai version they keep teasing is exactly what I want, but knowing how large it is and how Bandai does their pricing, I'm assuming the price on that one will be ridiculous. I'm expecting over $2000 by the time I get it imported if not more. I'm assuming Bandai hasn't bothered trying to sell it yet because they know the price will be too high for most fans. So this one will have to do for now.

Note that I live in Canada so the price in Canadian Dollars is much higher than USD so it feels more expensive. This figure cost me $455 CAD which feels like too much for something this size without much paint. And screw covers and stickers you need to apply yourself.

Isn't it the biggest toy SDF-1 ever made? I guess if you have titan class transformers it might seem small... But compared to Macross toys, it's a beast.

Based on the comparison pics on Anymoon, isn’t it just a bit longer/taller than the old 1/3000 Takatoku/Matchbox TV version?

^^Right after I find the Yamato 1/48 all black, credit card Valk.

Yes, it is.

I don't see it as "small" either. Did he get the Wave version instead of Arcadia?

I'm guessing he's a transformers fan who's used to paying $200 for a 24" titan figure. That would be a jump compared to a $500 16" (smaller if you don't count the cannons) SDF-1.

Getting back to the original poster’s comments, I personally don’t have any issues with his other comments.

I can understand the frustration of having to attach all the little greeblies and screw covers yourself, especially at the price asked.  Unless you’re a customizer, it can be a bit much to ask of someone.

But between the lack of general interest on a TV style SDF-1 and how niche Macross already is, I’ve given up on ever seeing a larger scaled, mass-produced, transformable SDF-1 (at say, 1/2000 scale).

Heck, no one has even released an updated TV-style 1/3000 scale one since the show first aired umpteen years ago!

I already have issues fitting the Arcadia SDF-1 in my display cabinet when itis in Attack mode with the cannons up. I couldn't imagine trying to find a cabinet big enough for anything larger.

@Paco Grande Maybe you should get that Jie Star not-LEGO version of the SDF-1. That thing is about 27 inch tall compared to the 17 inch tall Arcadia. It's also a lot cheaper.

What kind of cabinet? It can fit in a common DETOLF-style cabinet if a shelf-adjuster bracket is used, or a shelf is removed.

I did joke to my families about having to do all the screw covers and greeblies, but then I also dropped a couple on the floor and ended up scrambling around looking for what I dropped, which is 100% my fault.

That's why I had to make my own.

I only have two Detolfs and I use them for large size anime figures. I store my Macross toys in a couple cabinets from Brottar.

My reissue got delivered today via ECMS after being queued up a bit at HLJ during their extended operational improvements late last month:

Their ECMS shipping ain't too bad:

Btw, I decided to ship it earlier than my next year plans due to HLJ's CC-process gonna be adding more California-taxes by 11/15.  Paypal was somehow exempt, but not taking any chances with them.

HLJ lowering their tariff-virus on the item to at least 20% or so helped a bit, at least.

So, did I.

Been enjoying my custom for years now.

Yeah, and it's still one of the bars set as a standard for remaking the SDF-1! :D

Never posed it out that way.
