Frankly saying. Judging from the promo pics, i would say the markings are sorely lacking in the premium ver. Not much markings on the strike/super packs or on the main body etc as compared to the hasegawa ver. Cant really fanthom whats so premium about this premium ver

They're using the same set of photos for both versions so I don't know what's so premium about the premium finish.

Judging by the photos, it feels like the FAST packs are missing markings on the Premium. Paying an extra $50-something hardly seems worth it. Also, I couldn't bring myself to pay $246 for a VF-1...

It would be great if they could give us an in between choice of an optional set of waterslide decals.

Should rename title (Strike valkyrie added):

Arcadia: 1/60 VF 1S Strike Valkyrie Hikaru Ichijo Special Movie Ver / Premium Finish
To differentiate it from the 1st one.

Arcadia:1/60 VF-1S Hikaru Ichijo Special Movie Ver

It looks like the ordering button isn't up yet on their site

Edit: I guess changing the title would be considered moot as the Roy strike didn't get it's own thread and just carried into the original one.

Also, anyone know what happened to all the stickied threads?

Got it on NY. Thanks for recommending them in the other thread folks. They ask you to pick a currency and if I choose Canadian, it's actually $40 more than the current exchange rate for YEN to CAD. I'm thinking I'll pay them in YEN and let paypal charge me the conversion fee which surely won't be anywhere close to $40

Confused by the lack of tampo critique.  I'm looking at the NY preorder page, and I see words printed  on the vertical stabilizers above and below the skull insignia that are not any of my Arcadia releases.  Also words on the strike packs, tampo around the nose cone, and all over the body of the plane.  In fact I think I see the no steps on the edges of the wings, as there is no marking or structures on the edges of the wings that would show up here.   If these are tampo, that is actually quite a bit compared to a "naked" release.

Well, the fact that they reused the same photos for both products makes it hard to determine what markings will make it to the production premium release as those wouldn't necessarily be indicative of the final product. Arcadia/Yamato have always showed more markings on the prototype pics of the VF-1's so there's not much to say about the normal release. Whatever was printed on the previous releases of the VF-1 is what you should expect to get in the non-premium version.

still confused between the premium finish vs regular?

One has tampo printed markings, the regular version has stickers.

I'm holding out for a way to order the premium version.

No they don't.  Here is Arcadia's picture of the last Hikaru Strike vf-1, and you will see a definite lack of markings.  This is from 2013. FIGURE-001906_02.jpg

And here is the new one:

So perhaps they are just giving out the tampo pictures to retailers now, but this is definitely different than what they used to show on their product images.  Arcadia is definitely failing in advertising what the difference is, or perhaps they think that now that the product will be tampoed they can just show it since you can "recreate" the look with stickers, but these new images have way more markings than previous Arcadia releases.

Problem now though, how do you tell their new product images apart from the old Yamato ones?

Check the photos here:

Looks pretty similar to me. :p

:) At the very least, I'm doing Arcadia's work for them.  The first pic is what you get on a normal release, as we all have those, and the second will be the tampo.
