M+ ghost X-9

I looked all over for screws for this dude. This is what I found:

8mm screw https://www.metricscrews.us/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=98_298_304&products_id=1263

6mm screw https://www.mcmaster.com/91305A101/

If you need pins send me a PM. I'll figure out some economical way of getting them out to you and help cover my costs from buying bags between 50-100 (the only way I could find them).

So have you guys experienced the holes for the pins to go through the landing gears are not hollow? If so, what did you use to drill them out? Dremel? Drill? Kinda at a stand still with this X-9.

I bought a micro hand drill and a number of 1mm drill bits that I use to get through them. Those, if you buy more of these or even the 3D printed versions, are crucial to getting pins and screw holes lined up and clean. I would suggest, again if you're going to do other projects that are home designed, to get several micro drills in different sizes. I use the 1mm, but at times for larger 1.5 or 1.8mm holes, using those exact same drill bit.

So, I finally finished this project up, and I can't describe how much I love the finish. These pictures don't show how cool the color came out. It's a matte metallic finish, so although it has a metal finish, it can still show panel detail. Im not much of a photographer, so I couldn't get the color to show as well. Anyways, here she is.

There's still some small corrections to make, but for the most part, I don't need to do anything major, so I'm happy about that. I'll most likely do that over the next day or so, but I was hoping to highlight the finish, which I can't do as well as it shows with the natural eye.

Nice color and great finish. Is this red with a bit or orange added?

From the pictures it looks like pumpkin or persimmon in color.

No, I used Mr Color Super Metallic 206 Chrome Silver under Mr Color 47 gloss clear red. Then I used UV flat to flatten it out. It may be my camera and the light of the lamp. In natural light, it comes out much more red.

The metallic accents look nice, and it seems to self level quiet nicely too!

Thanks. I thinned the heck out of the paints, then had to do a few coats and make sure they all came out uniform.

I like the finish! It looks great, congrats Jason!

Thanks. Much appreciated. I actually learned quite a bit about this process in doing it.

Just wondering how many pins you need for this?

In total, I believe it is 12 of various sizes. If you buy a decent number of 1mmx20mm pins, you can always cut down those to make proper sizes, but you do need (I believe) 2  1mmx20mm pins, a a few 12mm, maybe 4 10mm, and smaller from there. Most of them are in the landing gear.

You also need 1.7x6mm self tapping round head screws, and 1.7x8mm of the same type.

I built Ver1 of his kit years back, great kit!  Really digging your brass details! Looking forward to the end result!

Thanks, well better late than never joining the fun. I hope those modification able to bring out those realism a bit from modern design.

Anyway I just manage to do 1st prime for checking error and correction detail that missing from the print.

With super parts

And without super parts. I also added back those 3 triangles beside those vent engine like those original design.

Here is the rest of the angle picture.

Look like need to correct couple of holes gap between the plastic plate detailing and thinking of doing some upgrade detailing from the thruster engine part.

Wow what a nice surprise. Really cool added details.

As a side note, anyone complaining about nekro posting on Macrossworld is a bit of an oxymoron, since we are dealing with a 40 yr old show!
