YetiStand Alpha.

I certainly had the thought of making it "interesting" but quickly shelved it (see what I did there?) for the same reasons.

In my opinion, the mount's real advantage lies in its ability to get the subject very close to the top "ceiling" of the underside of the shelf it's mounted to.  For example, I could have set up the Alpha to display the 3 VF-25s in that top shelf but wanted to experiment a bit with the shelf adapter instead.  But, there's no way I'd have been able to get the VF-27 up that high with any solution other than the adapter.  Well, maybe with about 3 arms on a stand but then it'd look ridiculous.

In summary, the shelf adapters are a great addition and open up even more display options.

Sure thing - Had that thought last night when I snapped it but the light in this room is terrible.  I'll post something up in a few hours.

If it helps in the meantime, the top one (holding the RVF-25) is a long arm (XL? - it comes with the bandai stand adapters) with a short one (those that come with the stock Alpha stands) on the end.  The bottom is the exact opposite, with the short on the shelf adapter and the long attached to the VF-27.

figured I'd post this as an FYI. I had it supporting a VF-0A using the Arcadia fighter mode bracket, the toy had been on display for a few months when the peg sheared off. IMG_0088.thumb.jpg.d7ba99a42fa32199d98e2d5519047bf0.jpg

Thanks for the heads up. Lolicon had a similar thing happen to his VF-19 with fold booster on a Yamato adapter.

That's no good! Might I ask how the Valkyrie was displayed? Was it at a steep angle? Taking down the adapter from the webstore for now.

No, The fit between the peg and the factory part was surprisingly perfect. if anything it would take more force to get the claw to turn on the peg than it would to pull it on and off.

@ChaoticYeti can you mount more than one valkyrie on the detolf adapted flying in two different directions?

You could easily tree off with dual arms, and knuckles to allow more than one figure per pivot on the detolf adapter. I don't want anyone's glass shelves to break, so I still recommend only one figure per pivot.

That looks like it'll do well. Say, would you trust three Valkyries to a Beta stand, or would that be too much for it?

Ok... please, what pieces make up that top display? I thought I knew, but I'm probably missing something.

Another option (Been sitting together like this for about a year):

1 Beta stand

1 standard arm

1 knuckle

2  XL arms

1 YA standing adapter

2 YA banking adapters

YMMV

Would the alpha and/or beta stands support 3 x 1/48s?

Are there any plans to make clear adapters like the pieces that come with the VF-31? Would be cool if the whole stand including the adapters were clear.

I 3d print all YetiStand adapters with my FDM 3d printer. Even when printing with clear filament, the part will not come out clear due to the FDM process.

I think that looks pretty good!

Much better than the black ones.

The pieces on the site and posted here by members look dark grey/black. How do I go about ordering the clear'ish versions?

Put a note in your order, or PM me here with your order number that you want then printed using clear filament, and I'll gladly do it.

Awesome thank you :D

So would an alpha and/or beta stand be able to support 3 x 1/48s? I'm guessing it would be pushing the limits of the stand but thought I would ask.

Almost there. Nice combination of Alpha, glass shelf adapter, Bandai stand kit, and various valk adapters. These work really well and I'm shocked at how long it's taken me to finally get things mounted and displayed.

Thanks guys!  Still got a few to add, some tweaks to make and protective paper to remove.  But it's coming along.  Trying my absolute best to keep the whole collection in one Detolf but not have it look crazy cramped in the process.  Very challenging.

YetiStands is about the only way to do this whole multi-level approach and not have it look too cluttered.

Another question:

did you at any point ever do an improved bracket for the RVF-171EX fighter mode? Every time I think about buying an RVF-171 the idea of that included monstrosity of a bracket just kills it for me.

also, I got the replacement VF-0 bracket a couple days ago. It looks great but I haven't had a chance to try it out. I ended up switching the broken stand to a bandai part for my SV-262 and now I'm out of free stands. I plan to order more but I keep putting off drawing up something I'd like to have engraved on one. :p
