Glad I scooped mine up from Amiami a few months back. I thought these for 70000 were not selling

A few months back is a long time in the Macross collectible market....so many factors at play, one of them probably being tired of waiting for Arcadia to re-release it...

is there an app or site that does the equivalent of ebay's saved searches (ie. sends you emails if any auctions come up matching your search terms)?

i know buyee and other proxy sites allow you to watchlist auctions, but that's after you've already searched for and found an auction to monitor. what i'm looking for is one that searches daily using my search terms and emails me the results.

I don't know of any but it would save me a lot of time lol

I've got a handful of kanji saved for my searches and it would be nice if figinstock added yahoo auctions so I could save the searches there instead of manually searching everyday.

Hahaha! You guys becoming so lazy now. Try to rely on search apps and all.

Where's the fun now in searching? You do know that you find more stuff (even if you don't need it) when you do it manually, right?

yeah, i'm guilty as charged too. sometimes it seems like every other purchase is "unplanned" every time i dive into YAJ.

what prompted me to ask about this app though is that i found out recently that something i've been hunting for at least 5 years turned up last month and i didn't even know about it until after, when a random pinterest update coughed up a pic that lead me to the concluded auction.

it turns out it was when i was on holiday in Japan so i wasn't doing my usual internet searches. ironically, i spent quite a bit of time during that holiday doing a physical search of that item in akiba, nakano, and even wonfes.

i guess i'll try to recover my YAJ account. i had one set up a decade ago by a friend living in Japan. without google translate back then i basically just  ignored the weekly emails from YAJ and have long since forgotten the password. there's probably a password recovery function but i heard that these days it's via SMS, which i'm hoping is not the case since she might've changed numbers.

Been there a couple of times!

What were you looking for?  If it was vintage Macross perhaps I may have extras.

Happy Hunting!
