Is it that time of year again where Costco is getting the 1/18 diecast?  Did you see any Ferrari's?

Yeah it seems to be always in early September.  I only saw a 488 GTB but they probably have more in the back.

Hot Wheels.  An epic 1/64 scale Team Transport would be KITT and a FLAG Semi.

Got a few regular 1/18 scale cars for my civilian or thug figures to go with my 1/18 scale KITT and Michael Knight.

I’d like a 1/55 chunk in my collection. What are the more reasonable ones to buy boxed with supers?

This is one of the 2001 re-issues. It's going to be the best quality at the lowest cost.

You don't want this one. It's the 1990 re-issue/re-tooling and they're junky.

There is a 1A Super Hikaru and 1A Super Max in the 2001 re-issue batch. They are rarer and generally more expensive than the Focker (which is sold as a Hikaru)

This is the 1982 Takatoku. Generally big bucks.

If you want something really special get the 1984 Bandai VF-1S Strike Hikaru. It's the only one that came with strike parts. Big bucks.

Just picked this up from the Jungle a few months ago for 11,000. Still amazed at that price.

Yup! What the others said above. Generally, the reissues are anywhere from $100-$200. I got all of my reissues for less than $200 if memory serves correct. And reissues have mostly tampo with only a few stickers to apply if wanted. The 2008 reissues (Origin of Valkyrie) have Gray tint to the plastic so you worry less about yellowing. You can see it in my pic above.

My kiddo said, “That is an awesome LEGO set.”

The Castle Grayskull? Yeah, it’s pretty sweet. Better than the main toy sets imo. Ironically, it’s the biggest building block set I’ve ever opened and put together and it’s not even “LEGO”. I do have a bunch of even bigger LEGO sets that have been sitting around in storage though.

Edit: I take that back about “a bunch of even bigger LEGO sets”. I just checked and most LEGO sets I have still have lower parts count. Grayskull does include a lot of tiny bricks for the tops and some side parts but the only LEGO set I have that clearly surpasses it in parts count is the UCS MF.

I built this 7541pc monster. Also the last thing I built. It broke me.

Darnit.. I've lost track of the 1/100 fighter releases in the pandemic, and I would have loved to pick up that hornet... although, the paint on the cover looks a little derpy on the yellow band around the canopy.

Anywhere it's still available?

It’s available on this site but I’ve never ordered from them before.

CDJapan might have it available through proxy.

Just bought this Bandai reissue chonky for a good deal:

No description available.

And now it is hanging with some of my other chonkys:

No description available.

You can just barely see the legs of my CF brownie between the 1S and 1J.

Here's another question for you.

As you well know that heat and lack of ventilation might cause your Chunkies to discolour, are you going to keep it there or move it to a proper display case?

Fewture Ex Gokin Mazinger Go Nagai 40th Anniversary Edition

I’ve been hunting one of these down forever! They’re really hard to find because their boxes don’t look any different than the standard paint. Most sellers don’t know what they have. Or don’t have. I actually ended up with two by mistake.

I love the coloring on this one! To be fair I love the coloring on the standard paint version too. I do love this one a wee bit better though.

Last pic is the standard color

Sorry for the crappy potato cam pics

I mostly just display on shelves around my room- my chunkys up there have never had an issue up on that shelf (even the Jetfire is pristine there). We do keep the temp down in the house- most of my things that have yellowed tended to have gotten a little bit of indirect sun (which some room darkening shades have made a big difference on since then). I also swapped out my old CFLs I had in there which rarely got turned on but rarely is enough.  ;)

Fewture Mazinger 1901

I have been searching for the Scrander for this dude for a year and finally got it. You have to get a box set with other figures to get it. And it’s not easy to figure out what box set has it in either. Figuring that out was the biggest hurdle.

The toy is kinda junky. It certainly doesn’t win any playability/posing awards. And fitting some of the stuff together took some time with a pin drill to get the holes just right. And it’s always about a heavy couch away from falling over (I haven’t gone at it with the KiKi yet though). Buuuuuuuttttttt, this is by far one of my favorite toy designs athletically. I’m a sucker for Mazingers, wings and steam punk. So, it ticks all the boxes for me. I love it!
