Kanedas Bike
In all debates on who gets cool sh!t Max>Everyone Else -b. should've specified, i have max vf-1s weathered (x2) apologies! since max in the 1s never was seen with the supers in dyrl, i guess we can only speculate he had them on prior to the sdf-1 reaching earth the find misa and hikaru
gunbuster76
Nice addition to your collection, sorry to hear about the rainbow tint is cracking. I would like to ask you a favor could you post a pic of what the cracking looks like? I have a couple of v2s with the rainbow tint canopies and I would like to see what it looks like. Yes, with some luck I was able to acquire them and yes they look great with the Frontier Valks. it's not as bad as that link. yet. hopefully it won't get worse. treatment
It's just flimsy coating gimmick. Most of us got rid of it completely right away when we got our yammies back in the day. Q-tip plus isopropyl or something. Yamato gave up on the useless gimmick quickly.
Saburo
there's a pic of the rainbow canopy peeling off here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=26947&page=25 it's not as bad as that link. yet. hopefully it won't get worse. Wow, thank you for the links and pics. I'll have to keep my eye on mine for signs of the cracking/peeling, so far they appear to be ok. It's just flimsy coating gimmick. valkfighter
my vt-1 is sufering from that, but i dont care much about it, when the peeling begins you can even remove it with your fingers, as i did on my Roy 1s.

Saburo, here is the how-to thread on the tinted canopies: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=38491 In it Graham notes that dish washing detergent also works at removing a cracking/flaking canopy finish. You can use this as an alternative to Isopropyl alcohol since it will not mar the paint/printing. The flaking seems to be more of a QC issue with the finish itself. I'm not sure what Yamato had to mix to get the affect, but it looks like a percentage of those early releases have a built in time limit. My rainbow canopies still look great, for what its worth. Gimmick or not, I like them too. (edit: fixed thread discription) Edited November 14, 2014 by technoblue
derex3592
I had to remove mine off my VF-1D straight out of the box, the canopy coating was jacked up. All my others that came with it are still fine today. Little alcohol and a q-tip and a lot of scrubbing.
Ignacio Ocamica
All my canopies including the VF-11B are fine. I wonder what causes the cracking.

I asked them where my 1/6th Robocop was and they said it was the harbor strike. I got a 25 dollar gift card though

MacrossJunkie
After deciding my Alto 29 should have super packs like my other ones, I got a set off of Mandarake which arrived last week. Just opened it today and I found a part was missing... One of the fold out plates on the tip of the starboard fold wave emitter was missing. It was marked as opened and box damaged but never mentioned anything about parts missing. Oh well. I knew it is always a gamble when buying an opened box from Mandarake. I've got a spare set of YF-29 super parts for the 20th anniversary version so I'll just steal a piece from there and repaint it white. McFly!!
B. Anything I need to worry about? Thanks!I've never gotten a b from jungle but they do pack their merch well. The valks I got were bubble wrapped and also wrapped in thick clear plastic (like the stuff that textbooks used to be wrapped in). close313
Ive got a nora B grade from Jungle and its perfectly fine. Just need to beware buying B grade white valks like the TV VF-1 as there is a chance to be slightly yellowed. Happened to me

Oh, I didn't think they would take things back since they put on the product page: *all items are second hand and sold “AS IS” conditionplease expect minor stain/damage on both package and contents. Mine did come from the Akihabara store. Oh well, too late for me now. I already started panel lining it with an oil wash and took a piece from my spare 30th Ann. super parts and painted it off-white.
