Got this already!

I didn't realize it was going to be so tiny but the engineering is fantastic! It looks a lot better than any MP Seeker I've sen so far and the articulation is pretty damn good. Very nice but again, I thought I was getting a Generations sized figure so while I am very impressed and glad to experience it, I will not be investing in anymore of these.

Maybe.

Their Jazz and metallic toy Megatron look pretty good too...

Is that a VF-1 with red Super Packs in the background on the right?

Looks like jet fire.

It’s the box art from 80’s transformers toys. Indeed it is Jetfire

Got my 3rd party Sazabi earlier this week. It's closer to a customized MG w/ metal joints than a Metal Build.

It looks awesome. Can't wait to get my own.

Warning, as it's a Sazabi the articulation isn't super good, and it's pretty light (like at best 1/2 the weight of the Kshatriya), but damn if it doesn't look good.

Also those metal joints are freaking TIGHT, try to loosen them up before assembly, lest you crack some plastic on accident.

Yep, I think we’ve discussed this here before but Jetfire was a reuse of the Takatoku 1/55 VF-1 mold to create a Transformer. Unfortunately for Hasbro, it was the Transformer that put all other Transformers to shame and basically put the nail in the coffin for Tramsformers as far as I was concerned. Many years later and it’s come full circle for me as Arcadia and Bandai Valks again put MP Transformers to shame. This little guy I just got is pretty impressive though and reminds me of the playability of the HMR line.

For many years I stared at this super cool artwork, and I wished for a Valkyrie.

It is  so cool we can enjoy Valkyries these days.

Indeed! Jetfire was my only “nice” TF and is the reason I collect Macross now. (Though like most Americans, Robotech is why I watched Macross.)

I got Jetfire around 2001. It took me about 17 years to get it, and then I got the chunkey monkey re-releases from Bandai.  Same here, it was a guy at work during the 90's who introduced me to Macross, and explained the Robotech connection to me.  It has been a long journey, but i am glad companies decided to revisit Macross, and realized how many passionate fans there were out there.

This (when I finally get one, still waiting for the postage situation to improve before I make full payment) will very much be a display only. I am find with the fixed post (like the post you have) and just keep it at that.

I can't imagine how much time and money I will need to put in to get a display piece like this if my only options is to buy the MG kit and add all the extra resin conversion.

Haha. Good pose!

Thanks! And thanks for getting me into these. I’m loving it more and more. Already ordered two versions of their Jazz now too.

I don’t want to got too deep in this game but they remind me of the displayability and playability of HMR.  Very dangerous.

Yeah, I’ve been letting my kids play with it along with some other high end toys lately and they love this stuff!

Awesome.

Look into the Insecticons set. These little critters are ultra fun. Kids like bugs and if you make it transform it’s an instant win in their book!

Pure creepy and delightful fun.

I’ll check them out but again, never planned to get into this line. I did hear they come with energon cubes so that is an incentive.

High museum quality piece right there @DYRL VF-1S, plus encased in a proper shrine with proper lightening for all to see!

Can we all give you a bottle of Hibiki/Hakushu/Yamakazi for admission fees after this worldwide quarantine is over?  ;) :D

Must resist temptation to pursue a graduate degree in mathematics next.

*sigh*  I must be allergic to making money  *sigh*

Congrats Shizuka!

Look at it this way. When you earn money, you can buy a lot more valks instead! :diablo:

(Enabler mode off)

Seriously, my hobbies are my inspiration to keep on working. Although with Covid-19 I've really been just scratching off a lot of items on my buying wishlist. But once I'm done with some insurance payments next year I'm gonna be back to my shopping spree online! :D

DX quality really slipping.

j/k it's a pretty neat find from the before times

Thanks guys!  Right @Lolicon ?!  I was bamboozled when I bought this DX. haha.

@jenius My decal/sticker sheet wasn't die-cut/kiss-cut.  Do you (or anyone else) happen to know if that is a thing with some of these early 1/55's or do I have some kind of manufacturing mistake?

My younger brother has finally had nostalgia hit him hard for all the Robotech he grew up watching, which has led both of us to consuming every single Macross show in existence. While we both decided to aim for collecting higher end figures ( DX CHOGOKIN VF-1J shall be mine one day!), I could not resist buying this 'masterpiece' for fairly cheap (MIB for $60us, shipping included) to see how it compared to the Jetfire I owned.

So yeah, these guys do feel like garbage in hand (and of course the light electronics no longer work) but decent for the times and for what I spent on it.
