Love that custom SDF-1. Been kicking around the idea to do the same with mine as it's yellowed over the years.

If I had the skills/time I would have painted the other one I have. The difference between them when next to each other is astounding. Do it!

I just got this. Who has one of these Medicom RAH EVA02's? Is yours a floppy mess? This thing is HORRIBLE. If I look at it sideways it crumbles. This is about the only pose I can do with it. The Unit 01 I have is fine/tight. This was supposed to be MISB but the seal was popped. I'm wondering if I got screwed. Or if they're all a mess. And the white armor/band around the abdomen isn't attached at all.

Looks cool though

I don't have those but Medicom has very spotty QC. Their figures can range from sloppy junk to some of the best out there. If it's just loose joints, you can use Future or some other acrylic polish to tighten them up. I did just order some of the latest EVA figures Bandai made for their Robot Damashii line, which is generally very good so will see how that goes.

That would explain it. It looks new. But it's a flippin mess. The pose in that pic isn't too bad. Oh well. You win some you lose some.

Good thing the shelf is too short for them to stand up. Then I would be really frustrated.:D

No problem! I'm glad I'm happy with the Metal Build EVAs for my Evangelion needs. Those figures are excellent all around and yes, I'm fine with the look even though they are not OG designs...to me, they look better and that's what matters. I ordered the Robot Damashii ones to have as somewhat in scale adversaries for my SHMA Godzilla figures and especially to go with Riobot NERV Anti-G.

I've got the MB EVA's. I like them. But in a different way than the toon accurate ones.

I'm coming to find as I'm getting to the end of my available display space that my priorities are morphing. It's not so much about the size of the collection, it's the quality (or quality to me). I'm falling out of love with the MB stuff because of the scale. They take up nearly the same shelf space as a 10-12" figure does without the impact of something bigger. My opinion of course. I may be jettisoning some MB stuff in the future.

Yeah, I'm not a big MB collector and ironically, I have the non-gundam releases like the Mazingers and Evas...and I love those. There is no way I'm going to collect a bunch of Gundam MBs though....unless they do G Gundam. Then I'm fv(ked! LOL!

Initially I had 4 Jetfires and 1 chunky KO which I started customizing. 3 of which were junkers that needed fixes of one sort of another.  2 customs were finished - a Roy and a VF-1D.

Then last October I dropped a chunk of change to buy someone's collection which included 6 of the Bandai Reissues.

I've yet to photograph the collection.  The only chunkies which elude me (and I'm fine with that, really) are the VE-1 and VT-1.

Long live the chunkies!

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see that the question was being asked of someone specifically.

How many Chunkies do you have now?

I have a sealed DYRL VF-1S Strike, and then 7 of the 2001 & 2008 re-issues, plus 1 Jetfire (if we want to count him).  I prefer the re-issues because of the tampo and the grey tones on the 2008 series (preventing yellowing).

Yeah I'm in the same boat.  Don't really care to hunt down the VE-1 or VT-1.  The DYRL VF-1S Strike cost me an arm and a leg (maybe even my first born...verdict is out on that) so I don't want to pay out the same for those.

I love the 1/55 reissues and wish they put out more releases.  Mine are all still MIB and since the boxes have no tape I carefully opened one of my CFs and gave it an extra VF-1J head before returning it to the box.

I have all of these minus the Max 1A.  Just haven't been motivated to get him yet though I'm sure that I will eventually.  I've been dying to open my VF-1S Strike, but I don't want to do it until I can get someone to do a solid repro sticker sheet for me.  I've attempted to get Toyhax (Reprolabels) and TFKingdom to do it as custom to no avail.  I've also reached out to individuals to no avail.  *Sigh*  One day.  Or I'll just find another Strike that is open and in good shape.

I love to open my collection so the Strike just seems too naked without the decals for my tastes.

I would get another Strike Valkyrie to open and keep the other one mint.

Nice 1/55s @sh9000!

I'm not sure how many I have but it's my all time favorite toy, period. So, I should probably get some more someday. I still think we will get reissues at some point.

Thanks.

This one is still my favorite 1/55 KO.

Haha, who me?:p

Congrats on some nice pickups! If I had pics of my SV-262 with Super Parts, I’d totally use them to try to convince you to get those too. :D

They are! Hopefully you can find the ones you want at a reasonable price. Prices for Mirage and Arad are a bit out of hand...
