Got the PAK Cloud with Fenrir from AmazonJP.

Good thing it got delivered before the company holiday shutdown. Man, that DHL shipping was so fast for Y1200. And like Anubis mentioned I really don’t know how they made it. 2 day shipping? Just wow! :shok:

As a gearhead by trade, I had to sell off my toolbox ($3,000 worth of mechanics tools) for my move back to YVR from YYZ and missed doing simple repairs on my car. I borrowed tools when needed and it doesn't feel right when there is a lack of proper tools around for the job therefore you have to improvise along the way.

Managed to get a starter set for $180 CND (not including taxes) and a 3rd party TF got delivered this morning.

Nice! I just tried to do some wrenching myself today.

Is that the Bludgeon repaint? Those are great looking figures. I need to take mine out sometime.

Yes it is. DNA Designs Arashi (Banzai-tron) -  A remake on their not-Bludgeon.

Here's Ben's review.

I am guessing that these are bootleg Blu-Rays rather than a Victor Entertainment Japanese release?

I don't see the pictured discs listed on CD Japan, and I don't think the Macross 30th anniversary logo would normally be stamped on the Macross Delta disc, given that said show would not have aired yet for a few more years.

Yes, they're stinkin' bootlegs...

...and so is this, but I'm lovin' it anyway.

That's a Transformer, Shizuka, from that awful Shia LaBeouf movie you saw.  :p

The figure is an upscaled Chinese knock-off, that makes some significant improvements to the original Japanese toy.

It is sad and scary we live in a world where bootlegs are becoming more desirable than the real thing. Maybe I should say improved bootlegs. A few years back i got Weijiang's MPP-10 Optimus Prime, and i have to say i love that thing. It is the only bootleg i've ever bought, but i am considering getting others in the future...

Not so sad, it's just a case of the flaws of capitalism the way it is setup. The licence holders must continually increase their profits and most of them do it by decreasing quality. This opens the door to others who can learn from what's out there and improve on them to capitalize on the opportunity.

Well, despite its positive reception among collectors, the original toy left much to be desired...

One of the more profound improvement made for this oversized knock-off was the addition of a filler piece to complete the underside of the helicopter mode.

What makes this piece so significant is how it doubles as a diorama display.

A fine example of "the vim and vigor of humanity expressed in spontaneous creativity," if there ever was one.  ^_^

Congrats! Yeah, beautiful bird, I have it permanently on display! Though I'd like to preserve the YF-30 in its box to prevent yellowing, I love to see it on the shelf even more.

Got a few Christmas gifts, ThreeZero 1/6 Big Daddy is definitely the highlight. Bioshock was easily one of the best games of the last generation, and one of my favorite games ever, had to get this guy, it's beautiful and very well made.

Gotta admit I don't get the ThreeZero thing.  I think they're great toys and I definitely admire them, just not enough to buy.  They definitely fill a market niche with the whole post-apocalyptic thing, which they seem to specialize in.  But their toys totally lack any metal.  Plus they don't seem to be durable at all.  They're slathered in paint.  I used to be an amateur modeler who won a few competitions back in the day and I know that the kind of flat paint that they use can be prone to rubbing off.  It seems to me that if you wanna be a player in the high end toy game, die cast is a must, and durability has to be a consideration.  With all plastic and flat paint, it seems they aren't that though.  One of the big complaints of Yamato/Arcadia is that they're just display pieces.  Their too fragile to be real toys.

Having never owned one, I could just be recklessly speculating here.  Am I just totally off?

Can't really say myself, the only other ThreeZero figures I have are the three Breaking Bad releases, and those are just basic 1/6 human body figures. I don't think diecast is always necessary, it depends on the figure really, as long as the overall quality and detail is there the figure should speak for itself. Especially with 1/6, once again, depending on the character, at 1/6 things get big and heavy enough as is.

That said, this figure itself is quite excellent, there seems to be diecast in the frame since it doesn't use a standard 1/6 body, and I thoroughly looked over the figure for paint issues and didn't see anything. He weighs a ton, he's got a big, custom 1/6 body frame with some diecast throughout it and his suit is thick painted plastic.

Only issue I've found is that his drill is a bit soft, the paint doesn't come off but it's a bit spongy to the touch. Little sister is just a custom little 1/6 figure, nicely detailed and articulated.

I think the Fallout 1/6 power armors had diecast, I can't verify since I haven't looked at reviews and don't own one. Like I said I think diecast use really depends on the figure/character, and I think ThreeZero has used it as necessary depending on the release. As for quality? Anything 1/6 or at this price range is always something you should look into and research before purchase.

Brother In Law came through for me and actually got me toys to play with for Xmas!!! He's awesome. My 1st (and probably only) Studio Series TFer... gotta say, it's pretty detailed! I also like how the G1 reissues have cartoonier looking faces then the one I had as a kid.

Actually went Boxing Day Shopping after seeing deals online.

Star Ace's 1/6th Katniess and IDW's TPB The Red Star for a total of $194 CDN (not including taxes). Dealbreaker: Katness was 50% off and it has a flexible heavy duty arm to put into insane archery poses.
