Has the assembled version always demanded more money than the kit?

Either someone didn't get the memo....or they really hate pinkish valks! :nea:

I'll never sell my Yamato Valks but if I did I would at least see how the Arcadia pink versions turn out before replacing the Yamato Valks.

If a Yamato M&M set went down to 30,000 JPY each I might buy them.

I actually won this one. And your reasoning is exactly why I purchased it. With the slow trickle of re-releases and their focus on hero valks I didn't see any way they would get to this in the next ten years if ever. I can be patient, but not that patient.

I actually preferred it being loose. It would immediately be going on display and it saved me a few bucks. No need to pay an extra $100 for a box that is going to sit in the closet/garage.

Congrats!

I am guessing that the boxed one currently on YJA should fetch around 50K....maybe more if collectors are unsure about it's re-issue prospects....I think it all depends on a VF-1D re-issue announcement....

Personally, I like to keep my boxes....I don't plan on selling any of my older Yamato VF's any time soon....but like acquiring that 3rd copy of any collectible......I hold onto my boxes...."just in case"  :db:

I'm guessing the same thing... which is why, after waiting months for even one listing, I wasn't too upset to see a boxed one listed right after I bought the loose one.

I'd rather hold onto the boxes and have a safe place to store my valks when I run out of display room really. ^_^

Though, honestly, you could probably pack a half-dozen VF-1s in a single box if you disassembled them, or even just folded them up to take up less room.  I eventually plan to multi-stack the plastic trays in a larger strike bundle box, fold up the boxes, and then pack the bare valks and accessories in something a little more space efficient.

Pity you can't do that with the Bandai ones, what with their styrofoam trays, but fortunately I have less of those than Yamatos.

Oh I agree. I certainly prefer to have the box and have never gotten rid of any that I have. There is also the completionist side of me that wants everything it came with even if it's just going into storage.

In this case though that box would cost a good $100 or more. At that price I can live without it and tell the completionist side of me to shut up and be happy the married couple is in the display case.

Arcadia Episode IV: A New Hope? :unknw:

Yamato VF-1D Virgin Road...MIB....35,500 JPY  (last boxed sample went for about 50K JPY)

https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d226996006

I guess the feeling is that Arcadia is "back in the game" and the VF-1D is a big probability....meaning the Virgin Road is within the realm of possibility?

In any case, now would seem a good time to fill in some holes in your Yamato V2 VF collection.....
