sbantonelli
Does anyone have the instructions for assembling the Arcadia 1/72 Gosu? Thanks.
DarrinG
Nope - but that is a photo of a Curio-Craftsan 1/48 Gosu...
sbantonelli
Thanks, I didn't know there were two versions of this model. I've figured out how most of the kit fits together, but there are a few small pieces that still elude me.
DarrinG
Post pics of what you have together so far and the misc pieces... We'll chime in family style and help out...
sbantonelli
The offending pieces are the the joints. I suspect the joint circled in yellow is for the head, the ones circled in green are for the arms, and the ones in red are for the legs. It is the black leg joints that are giving me the problem, when assembled, the joint has four posts coming off it. What are those for? Are they for the knee, and if so, what joint should I use for the hips. I'm just not seeing it.
EXO
Usually those types of joints are used for hip ball and socket joints that you have to trim the pegs off.
sbantonelli
Wow, that was easy. This is my first time with this type of kit. I assume the part was made for the kit, and the posts had a purpose. Thank you.
EXO
No problem. Also the Hobby Base ball joints have a tendency to loosen over time because of resin's viscous properties. you can either try to find a styrene tube insert or use super glue (cyanoacrylate) to tighten it. Move the peg around while it's embedded so it won't dry up and glue in place.
sbantonelli
Thanks for the advice, I'll keep that in mind for future kits. For this kit though, I think I will find a good pose and glue the hips in place. None of the other joints move, except the head, (which is disappointing for how much I paid) so there's really no point to keep movable hips. Having a static pose will allow me to paint the model with light effects, and it has me thinking more along the lines of diorama.
EXO
They gave you recasted ball joints? Well if you're still interested in having them articulate, these are the ball joints to get http://www.hlj.com/product/YLSPPC-T09
