I forgot to mention on this thread - as I've been in the dedicated thread for it - but the VF-0C/D conversion kit (sans head unit) is now available in 2 flavours;

With hard-points; http://www.shapeways...oductBox-search

Without h-p; http://www.shapeways...oductBox-search

And a few choice pics of said conversion kit (unpainted, unsanded - fresh from the box);

Nice conversion kit!!! do you have a fighter mode pic to share? and what is the material used in your sample? is that the "White Strong & Flexible Polished"?

Not yet! Been bogged down with actual work - no chance to transform it to fighter yet. The intakes still need a bit of whittlin' to fit exactly - unfortunately they look like they'll need to be glued at the rear/up top.

The material is WSF+Polished - but is straight out of the box, no clean up or re-scribing the panel lines.

I might be slightly exaggerating, but that seems akin to asking someone to build you a body kit to upgrade a 1960 Volkswagen Beetle into a 2012 Laborghini.

Shapeways isn't cheap, and ordering the number of parts required for that would be more expensive than shelling out to an ebay scalper to get a real one.

If I might make a suggestion, something I'd buy would be kits to upgrade the v1 Bandai VF-25's to Renewal versions.

Sorry, man but that sounds like it wouldn't be worth it. Making a 3D model takes time especially for something that already exists in the V2...then you gotta test and revise...

I don't know if that is actual working. even if you just do the hips the V2 is just so different that you cannot re-model the parts because they won't fit in the original toy. So what you have to do is take all the parts on the V2 that are not present in a V1 toy and model them which is kinda time consuming because they are two very different toys even if they look similar.

I'm sure Kurisama would do it gladly if you can pay him :p. But then again the parts shapeways produce are not comparable with parts form a factory because the process to create them is very different. So even if you get all the parts the toy would not look nearly as good as the original toy.

Also I'm not sure if the toy would be able to transform because of tolerances and the joints and tabs that hold them in place. Hm maybe out of curiosity someone should try to re-model a whole Valkyrie and see how much it's off to the original.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head there!

You are correct! I'd also consider doing custom requests if they're reasonable, relatively small projects and I see a market for them.

hey, can I put in a request? How about turning the back half of the vf-17's gun into a submachine gun or pdw type weapon?

Can you provide pics?
