Try it on low-light shots. :)

Congrats! Show us what it can do!

thanks, guys.

haven't had much time with it, yet, but here's a couple of test-quickies while first mating it with a borrowed d90:

yeah, i know they both suck. both pics are really not-so-good-quickies coz aside from the suddenly drizzly weather today, the real reason I haven't had that much playtime with the cheapy-50mm was due entirely to the thingy at the left of this pic that came with the borrowed d90:

which produced this test-quickie earlier:

so, got a couple of lens and stuff to play with for this long weekend. hopefully i find some interesting stuff and/or subjects for 'em...

:D

Oh lordy what a can of worms...

I think the best piece of advice I could offer is decide what your price range is, find out what models fit your budget, then go to a physical store that will let you try them out and mess with each of them. Especially when your first starting out, ergonomics and UI that work for you are way more important than tech specs. You can have the highest resolution, fastest focusing camera in the world with a million bells and whistles, but if it's not comfortable to use you're not going to have fun with it and you're not going to want to take photos with it.

To Nikon dslr

I'm not going to open that can-of-worms...EVER. To do so will invite a flame war which would scare Hell. If you ask any serious shooters, the split between the Canon and Nikon is 50/50. Remember, which ever choice you choose, you will be marrying that family's accessories. anime52k8's advice is perfectly fine. Go to the store and try it out.

Of all the pics I took of it, I think this one came out the best, considering clarity and composition.

Thats pretty cool!, Is that the real Eiffel tower?

Versus whom? Nikon? Sony? Panasonic? Casio? Olympus? Pentax? Tamron? etc? And in what category...point & shoot, DSLRs, lenses?

Ofcourse Samsung rules all of them lol. #Ktnxbye

And got the Venus Transit. Plus sunspots. Owing that I didn't have a solar filter, and risking damage to my camera, I used two polarizers, 1:8000 shutter speed, and F40 on the lens. Despite it coming out blue, I think it looks pretty good.

Edit:

Pulled all of the colour out of the photo to make it look less alien.
