It was fairly dark in the animation. Left an impact on me back in the day though, even though the ARMD they were one was decimated, THOSE VALKYRIES looked bad ass. Maybe, if the release date has indeed been postponed, they decided to run a batch of side covers color keyed to the Cavalier... here's hoping anyway. There's also a VF-1S with yellow -1J striping, but haven't been able to find a screen cap yet. My guess is: it's the result of just another color-check(?) error, was probably meant to be Hikaru in Roy's inherited Skull-1? But after a closer look, I think those look more like the squared 1D heads. I know: it owes to the time constraints imposed on the show's animators/producers more than anything else.
