It's back and forth, back and forth. I called USPS again and gave them my tracking number and she said they haven't received it back from Customs yet and another package from December 17th didn't clear until the 7th of January. I told her I had one package enter the 29th and made it to my house by the 3rd. She said I "got lucky." frakk this government bullshit, FedEx would have fired somebodies ass for this already.

Supposedly I have to wait another week. Never again EMS.

So far a missing leg cover and a missing fin. That sucks.

I have some photos of the chin problem.

First I dented mine. Don't look so bad. Only if you really close-up.

Here you can see where the chin touches the grey plate close to the neck. The head can go downwards crushing the chin because there is no lock to prevent it.

And this is what you should avoid.

When pulling up the grey part (red arrow) make sure the end point of the head is not pushing too hard against the fuselage because this will make all the head to push downwards on the chin and the chin will be forced against the grey plate on the bottom and there is nothing to stop the head and the chin will be crushed.

What I would do is grab all the metal piece under the head with the thumb and the index finger and then pull up the cover while watching to the end of the head and the space between the chin and the plate on the bottom.

Also be careful you can scratch the visor whit the grey plastic piece (cover, I guess) if the head is no in correct position.

Mine arrived this morning from HLJ. Everything is perfect except for the display/stand adapter piece for Battroid mode – that thing is impossible to attach to the VF-4. @_@ I gave up after 15 minutes of trying to lock it in place in fear that something might break.

Other than that, this thing is yet another Masterpiece! The holy-grail of valks has finally landed. :D

My vf-4 from NY finally left LA customs sometime between last night/this morning and is out for delivery, seeing that it arrived at customs on dec. 31 it was a huge delay, yet my vf-19p and vf-17dw/super packs is still in customs and arrived there on Dec 30th. I know it sucks but have patience it will get to you soon.

fantastic head mod!! yes, a lot of us would like one of those for our own.

Got my VF-4 on hand and its beautiful... will transform later to see if I'm not missing anything. Swoosh it a few times and back to the box for later fondling. hehehe

Those panel lines are thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin

It's good that you'll be getting your VF-4 soon but that means there's no way to tell if they'll let some of our orders languish in the back of a warehouse for a month or two because they're not even consistent with inspecting each item in order. It's complete dumb(emphasis)-luck.

I'm assuming NY shipped ours at the same time since all of ours arrived in LA customs on the same date. Although, my tracking still shows no update, I'm hopeful that ours will be out of customs soon. If you don't mind me asking, where are you located Murphy?

Got mine yesterday from HLJ! It's so damn awesome I could just spit. I suppose the only VFX designs left now are the Pheyos and VA-3 Invader, either of which I wouldn't mind at all ....

That modded head is pretty sweet. Any chance you'll release castings for mod kits?

Haha! I thought the location under your avatar was just a joke of some sort. Turns out to be true! My wife always wonders why I have a smile on my face whenever we pass through the San Fernando valley coming from Loma Linda after visitiing some relatives. =)

Anyhoo, I'm assuming that the local packages for that particular shipment went out first then the others are to follow. *crosses fingers*

EDIT: Mine just came out of customs about a second a go! Woohoo!

Got mine today. Went through Chicago customs, cleared in a single day. Initial thoughts; very small but beautiful. Guess I'm just more used to the old 1/48's. This is the first 1/60 I have that has come out of the box so the size surprised me a bit.

Looks like my question got lost in the pile of "LA Customs is the suxorz!" comments on the last page so I'll ask again....

I've seen that a couple of you guys have done panel lining on yours and it looks great. Any suggestions for a relative noobie who wants to do the same. Is there a tutorial online, thread here on the forum, etc that I could reference. Also saw mention of a Gundam pen/pencil(?) a few pages back...would that be the best way to go?

I think what should surprise you is the fitments and craftsmanship of recent 1/60 since V2 VF-1, those 1/48 have fair fitments for its era.

What is the retail price for this toy before shipping originally? I guess I might have to go to E-vil Bay to get one of this. HLJ is out of stock, but I can see that the original price is ~$300

By the way, it doesn't match. I think, maybe Mr. Surface + white will work better than this

It's funny how those yf-21\vf-22 gun pods actually work for the vf-4.

First, I think about YF-19 gun pod but it need 2 guns for balance looking in flight mode because it can't store in center. So VF-22 gun pod should be better.

And in VF-X, there have vf-22 already so VF-4 from VF-X with VF-22 gun pods should be ok. ^________^

I just noticed he's got the Vf-4 on a gundam action base with the adapter piece EXO made. Looks decent.

That one I use platic sheet and glue . It's very easy ^_______^

Ditto. Actually I think I spent a bit more on shipping when the dollar wasn't as strong. I should of canceled from NY when I had the chance and go with HLJ, get it quicker and pay $20 less. :lol:
