Other than era, since Casino Royale is supposed to be his first mission and Quantum comes right after you could say that EVERY movie comes after those two.

Hold on to that thought when watching Skyfall... If I say anymore, it will be a spoiler.

A thoroughly enjoyable movie, with plenty for long-time Bond fans to like. Some excellent performances, and Javier Bardem was perfect. While there might be a piece or two that I wasn't in love with, I enjoyed the movie enough to not care. I left the theater with a smile on my face.

One nitpick: Eve is completely the wrong name for that character. Doesn't flow at all.

Well the year might be almost over, but the movies won't quit. Skyfall is yet another amazing film in a year of amazing films. This newest Bond film is as good as Casino Royale and easily one of my new favorites for the series. Great performances all around, especially from the leads Craig, Dench and Bardem. The action was also inspired. I adored the opening chase and the rest of the movie's action didn't disappoint. The film also has a great theme that both wraps up the entire franchise and simultaneously reaffirms the power of what has made Bond so entertaining for all these years. One of Bond's best.

So from what I can tell the movie was pretty good. Unfortunately I didn't realize there would be that many people packed into a theater on a Sunday morning at 10:30 so I didn't so much see the movie as I did crane my neck up while having the lower right corner of the movie mashed into my face.

I REALLY liked this movie... But... I was hoping for some reference to SPECTRE only because they were mentioned in Mission: Impossible 4 and a crossover would absolutely rock!

QUANTUM is the organization you are looking for. Look for them in Bond 24 & 25.

Saw it today. It was very good even though I all my predictions I made half way through the film came true.

I have a couple issues:

That derailed train. There was no passengers on board. We saw a different train 3 minutes ago with a couple hundred people. That derailed train? Only had a conductor. I want an exploding train and body parts flying at the screen in 3D!

How did the bad guy really plan all that? He formerly worked with the MI6 well over a decade ago. His information should have all been dated and useless. Luckly for him and the story MI6 didn't change a thing. I started to think maybe he had a current inside man. He tried to convince Bond by saying that M doesn't care about the people who work for her. I thought as a twist we learn that Moneypenny was helping him. After all Moneypenny thought she accidentally "killed" Bond on orders from a heartless M. Could he have convinced Moneypenny to join him with the same reasoning he tried to do with Bond? If she was on his side at least it would make his plan more possible.

I just realized Judy Dench was the Bond girl of the movie - sucks about the car.

I saw it. Thought it was okay, but I'm getting tired of Daniel Craig inserting his own damn personal and political views in his Bond films.

 What political views!? What are you talking about?

Well its been no secret he's been pushing for homoerotic content since he was chosen as Bond, but this film also embodies his anti gun feelings that "only cowards use guns" and how he is constantly disposing of his PPK through the whole film.

Interesting... Of course Connery had a homoerotic scene in Goldfinger. I thought both scenes were more funny than anything.

It's a great scene, well acted by both. And I must have missed the part where he refuses to kill anyone with a gun.

"Even within its own narrative structure Skyfall makes no sense at almost any point."

http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/weekend/2012/1117/1224326696161.html

Seems the Irish audience this day only liked the Aston.

My first though, How can you watch a Bond film and not expect it to be pro-British?

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and it's nice to see that they are giving the movie the old elements that are familiar to longtime bond fans.

I loved the bit at the bar when Bond get's his drink just shaken in the cocktail mixer. There's no need for him to even say what drink it was.

And the Aston at the garage...people actually cheered and clapped in the screen I was in.

I know the old Aston was a nod to the past but did anyone find it strange that it was equipped with all the Gold Finger gadgets?

In the new Bond continuity Jame's wins it in a card game. The car is his personal property. Some between Quantum and Skyfall he brought his car in to Q branch and said, give a bunch of machine-guns and an ejection seat? Why would Q branch of a more gritty/realistic Bond era modify a private vehicle in such a manner?

The DB5 in Casino Royale is not the same car as the one here, as that one is left-hand drive. AFAIK, the Skyfall DB5 is treated as a relic of the old MI6. After all, M recognized that red button on the shift knob.

For me, it was a well made movie but not really, really good.

More drama than action, you always expect something really impressive from Bond that is at a certain point believable. But instead, there are some explosions here and there and lots of ammo wasted. Bond girl is hot but forgettable. The scene at the frozen lake is foolish, hard to believe. Very coward from Bond to kill the villain the way he did. What makes this an interesting movie for Bond fans is of course the old character names and the DB5 factor.

Casino Royale is still the best Bond film to watch.

Those weekly things run globally, and never stop publication if a call order is taken.

I know, been following the Ferrari collection. Now at issue 81, but I only collect the F1 cars, so it's just 12 I've brought.

The McLaren F1 model to the size of that Bond car, finished in the UK, and recently started in South Africa and Australia.

But I will say this, it's not worth the final price considering die-cast 1/18 versions can be purchased at $100 to $200.

1. Goldfinger (1964)

No way. The character she played was so poorly thought out. I would pick her as the all time worst.

Man those EW lists are complete crap. Lotta Lenya's Rosa Kleb as one of the best Bond Girls??? Really??? No way Carrie Lowell is among the worst. How the hell does A View To A Kill outrank Dr. No? Anybody else getting tired of people ranking On Her Majesty's Secret Service so high on lists? Its just not that good in acting, special effects, fight scenes, or plot.

23. Moonraker (1979)

Uh, no. Die Another Day is the worst piece of crap Bond film I've ever suffered through. Cheesy as it may be Moonraker is easily better.

It's become popular to like On Her Majesty's Secret Service now. One of those stupid Hipster ideals I believe.

They picked Rosa Klebb not only for shock value, but also because of the sinister character she portrayed. But hey - people these days consider Judi Dench to be a Bond Girl.

I have to go watch Licence to Kill again to see why EW didn't like Carey Lowell. Back in 1995, they ranked Talisa Soto as the worst Bond Girl, so they seem to have some questionable history with that movie.

And yeah, Dr. No not in the top 10 - moreover the top 5 - makes no sense. They're trying to stress out the fact that Ian Fleming himself hated the film adaptation. If I were to rearrange the order from best to worst, here's how I see it:

1. Goldfinger (1964)

2. Casino Royale (2006)

3. Skyfall (2012)

4. From Russia with Love (1963)

5. Dr. No (1962)

6. GoldenEye (1995)

20. Moonraker (1979)

21. A View to a Kill (1985)

22. Die Another Day (2002)

23. The World Is Not Enough (1999)

How would you rank the movies?

EW also ranked the six Bonds, and this is very much a subject of major argument:

1. Sean Connery

2. Roger Moore

3. Timothy Dalton

4. Daniel Craig

5. Pierce Brosnan

6. George Lazenby

Here's EW's 10 Gadgets to Die For:

1. Aston Martin DB5 (Goldfinger)

2. Walther PPK (practically the entire series)

3. Oddjob's Bowler Hat (Goldfinger)

4. Rosa Klebb's Dagger Shoe (From Russia with Love)

5. Jet Pack (Thunderball)

6. Omega Seamaster (GoldenEye)

7. Lotus Esprit (The Spy who Loved Me)

8. Wallis WA-116 Series 1 Gyroplane (You Only Live Twice)

9. Briefcase (From Russia with Love)

10. X-ray Glasses (The World Is Not Enough)

And here's EW's 20 Bond Villains You Love to Hate. I'm not gonna bother listing this one, as Silva's not on it and Nick-Nack of The Man with the Golden Gun is.

Why does everyone hate You Only Live Twice? I loved that, am I the only one? That volcano set by Ken Adams is legendary... stainless steel monorails and central spine cantilevered stairs in the 60s - he's a futurist!! Little Nellie - aw come on, who doesn't want a rocket launching gyrocopter that you can pack up in your briefcase! It perfectly played up the space race of the 60s and the cold war suspicions by the superpowers. Its the most often copied and alluded to elements of James Bond in all popular culture (evil stroking the white cat, flesh eating paranahs, in Japan Men come first...) come on!

Ok, I'm off my rant box now... calm down...
