@505thAirborne hey thanks! Same to you. Love seeing what you are working on.

@Cheese3 That looks great!

Making some progress on final assembly. Using a combination of regular cement and CA since lots of the connection points are just shallow rectangular shapes that slide around and I’m nervous about glue messing/creeping around on the paint. Slow and steady.

Really love this color scheme even though the metallics don’t shine as bright as I bet they do in real life.

Hey @tekering I didn't know you did 3D printing, is it PLA or resin?  How fine?  I'd love someone to do some 1/72 F-22 landing gears someday.

He does fine work. I had Ted do that Nadia figure I posted earlier. I also had him redo the K'Tinga parts that another friend of mine did for me that ended up warped because he didn't support the parts properly.

That she is.

Clean finish looks good in her.

Great choice.

I totally get that. I sorta have a feeling that the movie Meltrandi actually take care of their stuff. Not so much the boys, but she gets her wounds patched up and possibly even gets her ride back together and custom painted for the finale, and even gets her boyfriend a ride and custom paints that one as well. Not only that, but gets him a tailored outfit to fit him and in his favorite colors. The ladies just seemed to have a different aesthetic than the bros who n the film. Not so sure about the tv version though.

I totally agree. Where as this hunk of junk is more rough for wear, can’t be bothered and has never touched water or soap. Hahaha

Hey that looks amazingly weathered @Papa Rat - congrats!

Hey @derex3592 that B-52 turned out amazing!  Did the flat coat over top bring back the lightness after that gloss coat darkened everything?

@wm cheng - Well......soooort of....LOL. Honestly, this builds paint job took some crazy weird turns. My original flat gray paint job looked amazing, then the Tamiya spray can gloss darkened things up and I guess somehow reacted oddly with the Mission Models acrylic paint because from then on it never EVER lost this almost sticky tacky feeling. I resprayed Alclad gloss over my decals through the airbrush but even that didn't get rid of it completely, so I went back over the whole model again with light thinned down coats of the same paint and then sealed everything in Alclad Flat clear through the airbrush. It's pretty much normal feeling now....mostly...LOL

@derex3592 Nothing like seeing a B-52 with external ordnance, looks great!!

@nightmareB4macross How much more before you're ready to call it done & start painting this masterpiece? Again, hard to believe that started out as a standard issue 1/55... Impressive!

The Battlestar is coming together nicely, still not sure I want to name it Galactica. I might go with PACIFICA, TRITON or if I can find the decal... PROMETHEUS.

@wm cheng Thanks

@derex3592 I am also digging that bomber. I like seeing the payload from underneath. Very cool. Strange about the paint. Sounds like some of the layers didn’t like each other?

@505thAirborne that’s a great looking ship. Reminds me of my childhood. I never did watch the reboot. Might have to take a look sometime.

Ok so the Volks 1/100 IMS Terror Mirage is done. It was more fun and slightly archaic as far as final construction and finding secure ways to connect it all. Anyway. Here’s a few pics from the phone before hitting the hay zzzzzzzz.

Another glorious Mortar Headd for your collection!  Those yellow eyes on the shoulders are genuinely creepy. 😱

I've always been partial to the PEGASUS myself...

It's that unique cluster of engines that sets it apart.

The original Galactica occupies a spot in my collection, too, of course...

For the past twenty years, it's been widely considered the best sci-fi TV series of all time (although Andor and The Expanse may have eclipsed it nowadays).

Anyone familiar with the original BSG, however, is even more likely to appreciate it by comparison. 🤩

@electric indigoThanks. Tried out a new Gaia notes paint for this as an experiment. It has a nice amount of depth to it. Some shimmery blue will show up in the correct light that resembles a crushed velvet look/texture.

@tekering Thanks so much. Creepy eyes for sure.
Also look at your BSG along with so many others. Damn you have a museum of beautiful models right there. Is all of this at your home? Incredible!

I will make sure I don’t miss on the BSG reboot. And sad to say I haven’t started Andor yet. 🙃

@Big s thanks so much. I mentioned it before but that Gaia lacquer paint was really nice. It sprays great at a ratio of 1-2.5 so you get a lot in a small jar. It also feels highly durable. More so than Mr Color but I may be mistaken. I also bought some of their surfacer and a metallic. I will try those out on the next build which is all gold. Very excited for that.

@derex3592 She sure looks perty in pictures! Nicely done BUFF.

@505thAirborne Your battlestar is coming along great. Of the name choices, I'd go with Prometheus.

Once again, another piece of art @Papa Rat.

Eh... I've seen both of them, and I have to say I vastly prefer the original.  Ship aside, which I prefer more than the TOS Galactica ships...

Spoiler

...there was just more heart and hope in the original. NuBSG just turned into a race between all the characters to see who could be the biggest a-hole.

I liked the mini-series, but that's as far as I would ever watch it again.

No pr, thanks for the recommendation and can’t wait to see the next build. I’m have a few gai colors and one I want to play around with is their star bright brass. Supposedly it can be thinned down to around five parts thinner and turns into a smooth gold chrome. Got a Jagd Doga and Hyaku Shiki that I want to use that on

Wow those are very cool mecha. Thinning 1-5 is wild. I’m about to use their star bright gold with rapid thinner on the next build which. Maybe I’ll snoop around for metallic thinning ratios. A chromed out gold would be wonderful!

For once, I've taken the time to paint the interior detail of a Bioroid:

This is the best I could manage, from the second floor landing.

@Thom Hey thanks.

@tekering Wow. That’s wild! That’s a ton of amazing work right there. 🎉 I have only been to Japan once and most of the places I stayed in had very limited space. Well, at least the spots in the heart of the cities I visited anyways.
Very cool internal detail. Is that located in the chest area? Man I love that blue. Excited to see this all finished.

@tekering The PEGASUS is truly a Beast, I sure wish Moebius or someone else would reissue the kits, I'd love to get 1 or 2 more.

@Papa Rat The original Battlestar Galactic is one to be watched, remembered & respected, especially given when it was made. I wouldn't mind seeing a reboot of the original storyline from the 1978 series. As for the RDM reimagined series, find the DVD's or Blu-ray's and watch the entire thing, it's quite possibly one of the best series ever made. From the acting, sets, & musical score by Bear McCreary, it's one not to be missed.

@Thom I think Prometheus is the way to go too.

@Papa Rat - Agreed with most here -- get the Blu-Ray's and watch the new BSG. It's FRACKIN great! (You'll get that joke later)...

Thanks everyone for the compliments on the BUFF!  I continue to try to improve but I'm always my worst critic!

@tekering - As a HUGE fan of Southern Cross, I envy ALL your Captain America Resin builds, can't wait to see this one completed!  Side note --- Would you ever think about trying to design and print the  Zor's or "Robotech Master's" Mother ship?  I've NEVER seen even a garage kit of it....

It’s the same trick with the Mr color super metallic 2 silver. I guess certain metallic paints turn to a chrome when super thinned. I hear it doesn’t work on every color, but certain ones it does and makes a durable mirror like finish.

I'd post about it, but another one of my posts vanished, this time in this thread.

I'm done trying to do anything here; I don't need this, so I pulled the rest of my latest posts to save them the trouble.

Enjoy the board folks; I'm out.

It's possible an entire string of conversation was pruned, so maybe not just yours. IDK, I wasn't here at the time, but that's happened to me as well a time or three.
