i've always liked THE BLACK HOLE, great movie, particularly if you leave the thinking cap in it's storage case...

( flaming asteroid plowing on through length of main hull, barreling right on after the crew members' collective asses... Hard Vacuum exposure, Radiation exposure, Intense heat exposure... Never Mind...:blink::rolleyes: )

Oh, Hasegawa, why on the Black Aces kit did you print all the little warning decals in the same shade of grey that you're supposed to paint the model as?

Well, cuts down significantly on the build time!

No, it means you've got to spend more money buying additional decals that contrast properly. :p

1/8 Boomer Vinyl kit. Just metallic black, then blue, the eyes and teeth.

Finish came out great. Going to add a few more details yet.

He's pretty big at 9 inches tall. Little out of scale with the Atelier Sei figs, but it works for me.

Should we have a 'caption contest' for one of these shots?

Recently got back into building kits after being away from the hobby for over 20 years. Built a MG 00 Raiser as warmup and I just start this last week. Got done with the initial build over the weekend (cut, sand, assemble). Doing the Superparts this week. Then taking the whole thing apart again to prime and paint.

Thanks for the images of the VF-25F.

I was concerned that the bad fit of the shoulder joints in fighter mode on my VF-27 were because I used the alternative head. Glad to see that that wasn't the cause, and it was a flaw in the design.

Yea, I was dis-appointed with how the many pieces of the shoulder will take a lot of effort to line up properly in Fighter mode. But then once I started the Superparts. It looks like some of them will be covered up with the Superparts attachments so it should look better once those get put on. Here's what I got done on the Superparts last night.

LOL. That sure wasn't. I did the MG 00 as a warmup. It turned out pretty well (shows that I havn't forgotten how to do things) so I then started on this. ;-P

Phase II nearing completion.

I would probably be finished now, but had to spend a week playing in Singapore. It's something that everyone should do.

Love the Boomer kit. Looking good derex!! Are you doing a low-vis or is that just the base coat?

Finally found time to work on the Pegasus today. B))

Just the primer coat. Lots of sanding to do. The plastic on this kit just would not take paint well, so I had to primer it which I hate cause primering sucks. Low Vis would be awesome to see, but I'm gonna try to do some form of white..which may not go well, I've never had any luck with painting white with an airbrush or really a spray can either.

I love this thread, for the sole reason of that it makes me feel like I'm getting work done on my models vicariously through you all.

But in reality, I am finding that we all sorta kinda work at a pace that is reconciled by each other's paces... <_<

Looking good Wiz, fun to see a VF-25 with just the fast packs vs. the full armor!!

@derex, working with white paint is a pain at times even with a good can of Tamiya. Someday I'll do some fresh off the assembly line Vipers, but for now my squadron keeps going out on dangerous hit & run ops. B))

@505th..did you paint your red stripes or use the decals? Your Vipers look great! and that "Beast" is awesome!

For the main fuselage & wings on the Viper I used the decals. The Nose, Tail section and engine I painted. Moebius makes a great kit, not the best decals at times. The Viper from the COLUMBIA is all painted. I'm going to get some more work on the Beast done this weekend. B))

Wow! So many awesome build guys! I keep forgetting about this thread. Sooo many talented builders here. Always get new ideas and info from our collective experiences.

@505th awesome Mercury class and I also love your Vipers. I have lots of BSG kits I need to get to at some point. :)

@wiz, your 25 is looking great! Keep the pictures comming.

@007, LOVE that shuttle. Strange that I kind of prefer that one to the Lamda class.

@Derex, your Viper is looking awesome. Nice work with the front office.

This is what I've been working on the past few months. It's Revell of Germany's New Enterprise. I'm a little further along than what is seen in these pictures, just haven't taken any pictures recently. All the paneling and "Aztecing" is done free hand with artist pencils.

So the Aztec pattern is already on the hual? I have a 1/1000 Polar Lights kit and just looking at the massive amount of decals for the Aztec pattern gives me headaches.

I loaned my airbrush and compressor to a freind's son and won't be getting it back till this weekend. So with nothing further to do on the VF-25, I went and did the initial build on this:
