It's supposed to be the control stick. the toy's cockpit is sculpted to match its DYRL? appearance where it has throttle and the control stick on either side of the pilot. In the TV show the cockpit had a center stick, so TV style pilots are molded with the stick in there hand. this one comes with a TV style roy figure. Just a greedy wish, base on the note of hasagawa 1/72 VF-1A angel bird, their have a NO.6 VF-1D in the AB Team, for training & backup usage.
