Yamato 1/60 VF-X

Are those vents really carved into the back? Does it still transform?

The vents are painted on. It can still transform, since it is based on the transformable VF-1 mould, with the VF-X specific parts removed (the VF-X isn't transformable as far as the fiction goes)

No the vents are just printed on.

Yes, it still transforms, if you remove the optional belly plate.

So, Graham, when's the official release date? What about the Angel Bird & Fan Racer?

Sorry, no idea when the 'official' release date is. But I see somebody already answered that.

Hey Graham,

I noticed in the first pic it looks like the pilot is holding a brown stick in the cockpit. Am I seeing things or can you please explain what it is?

Thanks for the pics.

It's supposed to be the control stick. the toy's cockpit is sculpted to match its DYRL? appearance where it has throttle and the control stick on either side of the pilot. In the TV show the cockpit had a center stick, so TV style pilots are molded with the stick in there hand.

this one comes with a TV style roy figure.

Yamato is releasing the AB in limited run, but ain't the AB is VF-1A in the show? Why would you want a VF-1D?

Just a greedy wish, base on the note of hasagawa 1/72 VF-1A angel bird, their have a NO.6 VF-1D in the AB Team, for training & backup usage. That's sound reasonable~

If AB NO.6 finally become a official design, that's seem more complete.
