Complete!

Mechanic: Other 10B: Vanquish Race Related Aircraft: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#Other

- provides a nice balance between art, description of the mechanics, and a general sense of the MtR story and/or the characters' roles in it.

Issue 71............. :)

出た!

(Though, I was half expecting that they'd attach a present binder to #71 (as they sell additional binders in pairs, mate), so I'm a bit disappointed that we only get a binder spine sticker, and have to find another binder...)

RM++ Project:

Episode: M32A & B: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Eps. 32 "Broken Heart": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#SDFM

- lots of goodies in this one. Especially noteworthy is the supposition of Kamjin's activities between Eps. 27 and 32.

Episode: 7 44A & B: Macross 7 Eps. 44 "The Operation That Storms Into A Nightmare": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7

- some goodies herein, too. The extent of the astronomical object related naming used in Operation Stargazer is quite a bit more extensive then I appreciated while watching the series.

RM++ Project:

Technology: TF 01A: Macross Galaxy Fleet Technology: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRtechnology/MCRtechnology.php

- quite interesting. Though I had one thought going through my mind while doing it: who couldn't they have elaborated a bit (on the development of cyborg tech via the BDI System) in MF?

Complete:

Mechanic: 7 Citizen 03A: City 7 Civilian Vehicles: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#M7

- no changes between the two editions. The translation has been polished up.

Episode: F24A & B: Macross F Eps. 24 "Last Frontier": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#MF

- some interesting points on what could've been. I guess it kind of confirms that they ran out of time, eh?

Episode: II 04A & B: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II -Lovers Again- Episode 4 "Marduk Disorder": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#MII

- there's a nice highlight of the design process.

RM++ Project:

Timeline 54A: The Decisive Battle At The Vajra Homeworld (F): http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRtimeline/MCRtimeline.php

- the two RMs both clarify things, and make other things more unclear (specifically the one on the "song of love"...).

Thanks so much for doing these translations. It's such a treat to be able to get more insight into the Macross universe!

Thanks!

RM++ Project:

Glossary 23A: Marge Guldoa - Mayan Island: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRglossary/MCRglossary.php

- lots of small nuggets on this. My highlight is (yet another) name for the DYRL version of the ARMD when it appears in the main timeline: Revised ARMD Class (though, I was waffling with leaving it phonetically written: "Kai ARMD Class").

Episode: M33A & B: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Eps. 33 "Rainy Night": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#SDFM

- lots of insight from these two sheets - both in-universe/series and behind the scenes.

RM++ Project:

Character: M UN 08A: Kakizaki Hayao: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#SDFM

- the RM is rather thought provoking.

Complete:

Technology 01Q: Variable Fighter: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRtechnology/MCRtechnology.php

- no changes between the two editions, but I've revamped the translation (among other things, indicating the flow between VFs).

Heroine Gallery: Ranka Lee x VB-6 / Sheryl Nome x VF-11B: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRheroine/MCRheroine.php

- the images are pretty good this time around.

RM++ Project:

Character 7 Citizen 09B: City 7 Media Staff: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#M7

- the RMs cover pretty much all you want to know about the "Fire Bomber Feature" in 'Coffee Break'.

Complete:

Mechanic: D7 Citizen 03A: Vehicles Of Planet Zola: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#MD7

- no changes between the versions. On the other hand, the translation's been polished a bit (consistency, consistency).

Hahahaha. I bet such a toy would look even more "monstrous" than the Oni-inspired look of the animated mecha, if you catch my drift :)

Yeah.....not even Experten has attempted that beast!

Would the AZ-130A be tougher to engineer as anything remotely resembling a line-art accurate PT valk than even the VF-11MAXL? :unsure:

I don't think any of the Varauta mecha are difficult to realize as toys. In fact, the transformations are far more simple. They should be easy to build compared to stuff like the YF-21, for sure.

I think the problem would be the disappointing proportions. The anime (because it's all animated) does a great job of making the Varauta fighters look sleek and the Battroids look bulky. But in reality, you'd get a thin fighter mode and a lanky Battroid, like the transition of the VF-17 Nightmare animated valkyrie to the CGI modeled VF-171 Nightmare Plus. The result would look FAR different than the animation.

Episode: F25A & B: Macross F Eps. 25 "Your Sound": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#MF

- some interesting points. Can't remember if anyone's mentioned the "total length version" on MW or not, but it's interesting that it's considered to be the 'standard' version of this episode, no?

Worldguide 03A: Earth: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRworldguide/MCRworldguide.php

- quite a lot of interesting stuff. I was especially surprised at the role the Grand Canon III plays, the extent of the orbital facilities, and one of the fates of some of the Lancer II pilots! The RM on Macross City also implies how long it took for the reconstruction to reach a level where mankind can collectively take a break from it. Yowzers!

For the solar system patrols, I assume that the force would have to fold to each location, or did they use sublight drives? In those early days after the war could ARMD's (and Oberth's ?) have taken care of this or would it have to be Zentran ships?

Frustratingly, there have been no hints revealed on what those patrols are, other than:

- the name

- based from Apollo Base on the Moon

- using Super Pack equipped VF-1 (initially)

Mechanic: Other 06A: Hatchet Class Destroyer Untamed / Mobile Weapon Annabella Lasiodora / Meltrandi Assault Plunder Ship / Jamming Station: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#Other

- some interesting stuff. Perhaps most interesting is the specific location of where certain levels of the VF-X2 game took place. Alas, the mechanics are extremely light on stats, especially the ones that appear in the SDFM-DYRL game.

TF02E,F: Macross F Theatrical Edition ~The Wings Of Goodbye~: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#TMF

- not sure about the point on the RM dedicated to the last moments of Mishima et al. Nevertheless, the highlighting of the pun with Aruto's name is fun, so to is the one on what happens to Isamu.

Episode: 7 45A & B: Macross 7 Eps. 45 "The Treacherous Fourth Planet": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7

- not quite as amusing as the two sheets above. Nevertheless, some good, solid points.
