History: F 05A: Gaul 4 Insurrection Incident: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRhistory/MCRhistory.php#MF

- wow, they have a real good reason why Ogotai and Temujin look the way they do.

Technology 01J: Variable Fighter: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRtechnology/MCRtechnology.php

- "incomplete forms". Heh.

Episode: M16A: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Eps. 16 "Kung-fu Dandy": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#SDFM

- who'd have thought that Lynn Kaifun was even disliked by some of the creative staff?

i put him on the best movie badguy list thread bc he did his job to get under my skin... hikaru would've been fighting miria instead of max if he wasn't injured... from Misa's hesitation. jk :) good to know even his creative board doesn't like him.

awesome database.

Character 7 Citizen 01B: Nekki Basara: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#M7

- Basara's love life (well, kinda). Makes one think - how different would the series be if instead of treating his relationships respectfully and at a distance, if it did just the opposite?

Episode: 7 24A: Macross 7 Eps. 24 "Merry-Go-Round": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7

- can't quite say that the Topics this time are mind blowing, but overall, I found the sheets quite interesting.

- I *luv* the sheer number of engines on this thing. I also like how the VF-1 engines are reused for civilian purposes years later. Alas, the RM on the helicopter doesn't explain why it was unpiloted (or if it was, who was piloting it - because it certainly didn't look like someone was piloting it in the shots shown in M+).

I still would love to get one of each of these somehow. I see a date listed of 8/1/2014 on the webpage. Is that the release date? Seems a bit far off for selling pre-orders if it is. If not, can someone let me know what the release date is?

Thanks!

RM++ Project:

Mechanic: F ETC 03B: VF-27 Lucifer: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#MF

- interesting how they indicate that the AIF-9V is equipped with a gun pod. Nevertheless, lots of small changes to the names of the different VF-27 models.

Character Plus Citizen 02B: Myung Fang Lone: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#M+

- some more insight into (young) Isamu and the scale of the 30th armistice ceremony.

Timeline 30A: Fateful Reunion (Plus,7): http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRtimeline/MCRtimeline.php

- even more insight into Isamu.

History 7 06A: Sound Force Formation: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRhistory/MCRhistory.php#M7

- this sheet also spawns a what if question: what if the series was more focused on the attrition in the ranks during the war that the RM suggests and only plays out in the background of the series? The other RM doesn't really add anything new, IMHO, as that info's already mentioned elsewhere.

Finally got caught up on this stuff myself... ended up having to order about twenty issues and six binders en masse. I'd always figured that was the case, that the AIF-9V was just using a cut-down BGP-01 as its main gun. I'd guess it doesn't have the beam grenade mode though, since it looks like the actual back of the gun is embedded deep inside the AIF-9V's body.

Reading Isamu's light personality on the surface but reacted wholeheartedly for his childhood friend reminds me a little of Spike's character in Cowboy Bebop. learning a lot from your hard work. thank you for the access...

Mechanic: M UN 09B: SDR-04-MkXII Phalanx: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#SDFM

- the RM has a bit more insight into the why the Phalanx came into being, and its design philosophy. Neat!

Side note - one of the things I like about Macross is how in-series the designs aren't infallible, and there's a tangible feeling of progress in the various series.

Ai01C,D: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Do You Remember Love?: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#DYRL

- wow. The topics herein provide a couple of pieces of gold that -despite always being present in the movie- I've never noticed before. Eg. "Commander Max". And I'm glad I'm not the only one that missed such details - it makes a point of pointing that out!

TF01E,F: Macross F Theatrical Edition ~The False Diva~: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#TMF

- I'm not sure if I like the interpretation of Aruto as some uber naturally talented pilot (I guess I like the TV version better), nevertheless, the topics feel a bit light on detail (all the more so due to the gold in the DYRL sheets!)

Ah well, at least we know the movie versions get 6 sheets. Should we be expecting the same for FB7?

so it was miria's missile that killed Kakizaki, not a beam... (is that a general term for projectile?)

Complete!

Ranka Lee x Rigaado / Sheryl Nome x SDF-1 Macross: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRheroine/MCRheroine.php

- for some reason, the Sheryl/SDF-1 illo comes across as sacrilegious to me. The Ranka/Rigaado illo, on the other hand, is fun.

Mechanic: TF ETC 04B: Vajra: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#TMF

- I like how they actually put some thought into the Vajra in the movie version (take that, TV version!). This sheet does round out the Vajra that much more, but ultimately, the Vajra are still a pale protagonist next to the Protodevilun (whom also pale next to the sheer awesomeness that the Zentraadi protagonists are!).

RM++ Project:

Worldguide 20A: Private Military Providers: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRworldguide/MCRworldguide.php

- despite being focused on S.M.S., it was more informative than I expected: some actual numbers for the mobile weapons deployed to S.M.S.. They also have an additional pair of heretofore unseen ships, too.

RM++ Project:

Technology 01L: Variable Fighter (Specialized Mission Variable Craft): http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRtechnology/MCRtechnology.php

- surprisingly informative. More specifically the bit on the service life of the VA-3, though the stuff on the VB-171, VB-4 and VB-5 is noteworthy, so too the idealized operational usage of the VF, VA, VB, and VE.

Complete:

Mechanic: TF NUNS 02A: VF-171 / Destroid: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#TMF

- all three "mobile weapons" get a bit more expansion and refinement. On the other hand, the movie version of the VF-171 appears to be a combination of the TV version's VF-171 and VF-171EX (sans EX-Gear of course).

RM++ Project:

Episode: 7 25A: Macross 7 Eps. 25 "Late Night Duet.": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7

- quite a bit of insight into the major characters of the series. The topic on the Nature Sections leaves a bit to be desired - they're essential, yes, but why? One would think that Kawamori-san would be able to provide a specific reason for that... did the writers consult him?

And a final footnote on my previous host:

They sent me a mass-mailer job opportunity because I'm in Japan (part time, service type that requires Japanese fluency). Nevermind the history of the account, nor their misrepresentation of their service (or their lack of ability to stick to a contract).

No thanks.

Exactly 30 new Tenjin double pages (not all of them covers). 32 if we count the "variant" VF19P and Spartan images.

The Daedelus was one I think....and the Quarter.....had forgotten about the 19P variant!

Hope this means they opted to pay Tenjin for new art (only way I'll keep buying them).....otherwise, lots of familiar cover art coming our way... ;)

Is he doing any additional Arcadia box art?...Will there be more Macross Chronicle art beyond the assumed 30 new covers?...

He is not due to do any further Arcadia box art at this time. As always though this may change in the future. His other new piece of art is on a poster which is a prize in the latest Macross ichiban kuji.

You mean this one?

The new poster reminds me of a combination of these two:

- some parts perked my interest, but I think the sheet will appeal more to a proper MII fan.
