Old Man
I'm looking to have a 1/48 Minmay Guard custom done by Kurt, but I need the decals (for the Valk and Strike Parts). Can anyone help me out? Edited March 7, 2010 by Old Man

Old Man
http://samueldecal.com/ Click the Macross section. Hope that helps! Thanks. I checked them out, but I'm a bit confused. Is there a reason why Samuel decals are so different from Anasazi's Minmay Guard decals?
ultimateone
Hmmmm. Good point. I never really noticed, but it is missing that purple design that runs across the chest and arm. Well, If you can get a hi-res scan you could always print those on your home computer and use them alongside the Samuel set.
Jasonc
there were 2 different Minmay Guard type kits. There was the Paris Act one, which was supposed to have that tread decal as well, don't know why it wasn't on the decal sheet. Then there was the Moon Guard one, the one that is found with Minmay as a valk girl holding a small moon.
MacrossMan
Can't speak for Samuel decals, but I know some here have used them. I'll say if you are able to secure a set of Anasazi's waterslide decals cop them like your life depended on it! You won't be disappointed. Just wish I could have been around when the getting was good for these. Good luck in your search. MacrossMan
So I'm guessing you don't still have that set you got from xsjado, huh, MacrossMan? Unfortunately, no. They were used on for this one: I have since gotten rid of it to cover the cost of a new lens. I lucked up and landed another set though as well as the Moon Act decals. They are already assigned to Valks waiting for customization though.

How did you get lucky enough to score both sets of decals??? I can't even find the Paris Act decals. I've got an appointment with Kurt with no decals. Old Man
By the way, MacrossMan, that MG Paris Act you had is gorgeous. I've checked out most of Kurt's MG Paris Act Valks, and that one is my favorite. If and when I find my decals, I'd like mine done mostly like that, with a few modifications. Were those custom GBP hands from Yamato or SILVERDRAGON?

If you are able to get your hands on set, Kurt will make them well worth your while in searching for them. Trust me on that. Hope you are able to find a set. Have you asked Kurt if he's ever did a custom using Samuel's decals? They might be just as good as Anasazi's.

Yeah, at first I was a little miffed that I had to find my own decals for my Kurt Custom, but now I completely understand why he doesn't go through the hassle, cause man is it ever a freaking hassle... In the end since mine was non-canon I was able to do a mix of 1/48 and 1/72 I had found from various sources. /I feel bad selling it, but I knew once I could picture selling it, I was going to. Got myself a 1/4 scale Sideshow scout trooper and speeder bike with the proceeds though. Here it is, BTW. Some lucky dude in South America is now the proud owner... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=28801
Old Man
I totally agree with you, ultimateone. Tracking down decals for a custom is almost a full-time job these days. Kurt has enough work on his hands without having to deal with getting all the parts to his masterpieces. Heck, I'm finding it rather difficult just finding a 1/48 Super & Strike Parts set. Thanks to this forum, however, I've found some alternatives to the online hobby stores and eBay. Edited March 24, 2010 by Old Man
Kicker773
Ahem....coming from an MG collector I feel you and would really want to help, but with the scarcity of the decals and their availability I would have to hold onto my extras. Samuel decals are ok, but the texture is quiet different from Anazasi's. I have both Virgin roads, one with Samuel decal and one with anazasi's. I know you pm'ed me regarding a model posted, if its a model then it is not mine, plus i'm not sure which picture you were referring to. I only have 1/48's yet... and 5 of them =) Stick around and maybe someone might let a set go. Word of advice though in the future, never set a schedule unless you have everything instead of you scrambling to find it. If do find another set I will pass on the info to you. Old Man
Thanks, Kicker. Fortunately, I've got an ace up my sleave that might pull me out of the fire, so don't count me out yet.
