Pizza the Hutt
Has anyone seen or owned a series of "gumball machine" Macross Valkyries from the 80's? It has been a while and I know it was Macross because it nothing "Robotech" written on them or the papet instructions and it needed to be assembled and were almost as big as those Battle beasts. I know in Texas they kept running out at a local Krogers my family would go to. I frequently check ebay for them, So in a sense that was my second exposure to Macross aside from my Christmas present my older sister got me that was a Zentraedi battlepod with instructions all in Japanese. Anyway those were neat and who knows, Someone might atleast suprise us with a pic. Stay cool folks, Pete (not the VFTF1 Pete)
Renato
There's been loads of gumball machine mini-sized mechas, even in recent times. You might be thinking of these, though..? http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...mp;#entry827339
Pizza the Hutt
Hi Renato, Thanks for the info. One detail I forgot to mention was the legs and arms could post slightly. If memory is correct the piece of paper that came with the gumball machine mechas had a picture of Hikaru and Misa together. But it has been a good 20+ years so memory has faded and if it was not for that link I saw the other day on the erasers I may not have remembered. Have a nice weekend Pete
BoBe-Patt
are you talking about this? http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/vendingf.jpg http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/vendingb.jpg http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/vending_inside.jpg

But the ones I bought were sold out of gumball machines and that is when they started to cost $.50 and were the hard plastic type that had fragile hip pegs that caused the legs to snap off easily. Some of those reminds me of the soft plastic toy robots that was sold in bulk jars at Sam's wholsesale club back in the 80's as well. thanks
AcroRay
I know exactly what you're talking about. I had one wayyyy back in 'the day', but lost it long ago. They're rather rare. I've got some pictures on my hard-drive at home. I'll try posting them later.
bigkid24
Yeah I know what you're talking about. They were slightly poseable at the shoulders and hips, but they weren't transformable. I think I have an Elint in gerwalk, a super VF-1A battroid, and maybe a Super Vf-1 in gerwalk. They are about 1 inch tall. Does that sound like what you're looking for? glane21
Knock-offs of the little Bandai SD battroid kits were sold as 50 cent capsule toys in the US. I have the header card out of the machine somewhere. The kits included the SD VF-1S, VT-1, VE-1, and one other , all battroids. When assembled they are roughly the same size as Battlebeast toys. If the ones you remember were little squashed versions then maybe this is what it was. I'll try to find the header card and post a pic, it does say Macross on it. AcroRay
Here's one from a close eBay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=150365458168
Jasonc
I have the one that BoBe-Patt was linking to. It's pretty damn cool. I do remember the other ones from the ebay one too. That's going way back.
Pizza the Hutt
I still peek on Ebay for those things too.I guess if my memory is correct,my first Robotech toys were Macross toys way back in the mid 80's and one was a Zentraedi battlepod that my older sister got (all in Japanese and had tiny flat screwdriver for assembling) and then after that I would frequently get one of the Macross mecha from the gumball machines until they ran out.I had atleast 5 or 6 or so because my dumb little brother would mess them up or steal and hide them just like he did with my SDF-1. One of those old gumball machine mechas would look good on my car dashboard for sure

Hey, I remember those cute Bandai SD kits. They were sort of transformable too, with parts swapping out for the head. I used to have the Hikaru, Max, Focker VF-1s and the "Funny Chinese" ELINT, which I wondered for the longest time about where it appeared in the series. They should totally reissue those kits.
