Renato
This week's issue of "Pen" magazine has a special feature on Star Trek, its history and influence in Japanese popular culture, entertainment, science and technology, with Shoji Kawamori as one of the interviewees. http://www.amazon.co.jp/Pen-%E3%83%9A%E3%83%B3%E3%83%BB%E3%83%97%E3%83%A9%E3%82%B9-%E3%82%B9%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC%E3%83%BB%E3%83%88%E3%83%AC%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF%E3%81%AE%E9%AD%85%E5%8A%9B%E3%82%92%E6%8E%A2%E3%82%8B%E3%80%822013%E5%B9%B49-16%E5%8F%B7%E5%88%A5%E5%86%8A-%E9%9B%91%E8%AA%8C/dp/B00DMYBREE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1376375899&sr=8-4&keywords=pen

Marzan
Don't know if there's anyone who's posted this already, but there's some videos out there of the ribbon cutting ceremony for the VF-25 that's being exhibited at Yokohama Minatomirai station. http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2013/08/13/video-full-scale-macross-valkyrie-installed-in-minmays-home-town It looks awesome. Graham
Looks like a modelling book focused on the new Bandai kit. So probably lots of pretty pics plus build-ups. Graham

sketchley
Macross Mechanics sounds familiar... http://www.1999.co.jp/10157162 Is this the Macross Mechanics 02 that was advertised in the back of 01 that never saw print being reworked around the new Bandai VF-1 kit? another one, this time by Model Art: http://www.hlj.com/product/MDARRM-03/Boo If you mean another one in the sense of "a different publication" ('cuz I initially read it as "another link to the Macross Mechanics"), then yes. That said, it looks like its an ad for "Double R Mechanics No.3", which has a feature article on "80's Real Robot Mechanics: Variable Fighter VF-1 Valkyrie". Here's the link to the publisher's page, with a content breakdown of No.1 and 2: http://www.modelart-shop.jp/?mode=cate&cbid=1465512&csid=0 Edited August 20, 2013 by sketchley
Major Focker
yes, i meant different publication. i thought though that RR Mechanics#3 would be entirely about VF-1 models. if it's just a feature article then i'll probably cancel my preorder. Marzan
Still on the idea formulation stage though. I wonder how much he really means to include other media/art forms in the process. We might well end up with "Macross Oddyssey ; The Smartphone Opera"
terry the lone wolf
So Funimation and Sony interviews Macross's daddy about the 30th anniversary of Macross? Funimation is no longer in bed with HG. I know this is pie in the sky but could this be the start of something bigger?
VF5SS
Funimation is currently releasing both Aquarion EVOL and AKB0048 in the states so it's mostly a press promotional thing.

Tochiro
Macross The Museum will have a special event on September 21: A talkshow and signing by Haruhiko Mikimoto. The talkshow will be MC'd by Hidetaka Tenjin. Much like the previous Shoji Kawamori talkshow, reservations can be made by calling The Tezuka Osamu Museum directly. Zinjo
So Funimation and Sony interviews Macross's daddy about the 30th anniversary of Macross? Funimation is no longer in bed with HG. I know this is pie in the sky but could this be the start of something bigger? If Warner Bros were in the mix, I'd say "Perhaps", but it is most likely an opportunity to highlight to Macross fans that other Kawamori properties are available for Sale in the West. Yes. Dynit (probably the biggest anime/manga label in Italy) is releasing Macross Plus in both DVD and Blu Ray in november 2013. Their stuff is always in italian/japanese so english speakers shouldn't get too excited. It's still pretty interesting because as far as I can see (and if someone knows better do tell!) , it's the first release of a Macross property in the west for quite some time.
