Don't know if there's anyone who's posted this already, but there's some videos out there of the ribbon cutting ceremony for the VF-25 that's being exhibited at Yokohama Minatomirai station.

http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2013/08/13/video-full-scale-macross-valkyrie-installed-in-minmays-home-town

It looks awesome.

Here is another link with more info:

http://www.amazon.co.jp/マクロスメカニクス-マクロス30th編/dp/4798606804/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1376978284&sr=1-1&keywords=マクロスメカニクス

It looks like a Hobby Japan publication with pictures of Macross model kits that appeared in their magazine.

Anyone know what this is? Or rather, heard any news of this?

http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=MED-BOOK-000612&page=top

I'm seconds away from preordering it

Macross Mechanics sounds familiar...

http://www.1999.co.jp/10157162

Is this the Macross Mechanics 02 that was advertised in the back of 01 that never saw print being reworked around the new Bandai VF-1 kit?

another one, this time by Model Art: http://www.hlj.com/product/MDARRM-03/Boo

If you mean another one in the sense of "a different publication" ('cuz I initially read it as "another link to the Macross Mechanics"), then yes.

That said, it looks like its an ad for "Double R Mechanics No.3", which has a feature article on "80's Real Robot Mechanics: Variable Fighter VF-1 Valkyrie".

Here's the link to the publisher's page, with a content breakdown of No.1 and 2: http://www.modelart-shop.jp/?mode=cate&cbid=1465512&csid=0

yes, i meant different publication.

i thought though that RR Mechanics#3 would be entirely about VF-1 models. if it's just a feature article then i'll probably cancel my preorder.

If it helps:

The second feature article is "the ship-borne craft of Space Battleship Yamato"

Still on the idea formulation stage though. I wonder how much he really means to include other media/art forms in the process. We might well end up with "Macross Oddyssey ; The Smartphone Opera" :p

Macross The Museum will have a special event on September 21: A talkshow and signing by Haruhiko Mikimoto. The talkshow will be MC'd by Hidetaka Tenjin.

Much like the previous Shoji Kawamori talkshow, reservations can be made by calling The Tezuka Osamu Museum directly.

More Kansai Macross:

Oshare Macross 2

In the Kyoto Marui Bldg, 6F Special Event Hall (same place as last time, if memory serves)

From 2013.08.31 to 2013.09.08

10:30 to 20:30

See the Macross 30 HP for details on the new loot being offered: http://macross30.com/news/

Apparently they're having a stamp rally tie-in with Macross the Museum:

From 2013.08.31 to 2013.09.08 (redeemable at the Tezuka Osamu Museum until 09.16)

Macross The Genga-ten in Nagoya

Apparently it's the final appearance of that exhibition.

2013.08.28 to 2013.09.10

Apparently they're getting lots of guest speakers:

09.01: Grace O'conner's VA talk show

09.07: Mikimoto Haruhiko signing

09.08: Ranka Lee VA talk show

Each time is limited to 100 people (50 per showing), with 2 showings per day per guest.

So Funimation and Sony interviews Macross's daddy about the 30th anniversary of Macross? Funimation is no longer in bed with HG. I know this is pie in the sky but could this be the start of something bigger?

If Warner Bros were in the mix, I'd say "Perhaps", but it is most likely an opportunity to highlight to Macross fans that other Kawamori properties are available for Sale in the West.

I also saw some new MacF Risa Ebata art at the macross fan club site , this one is quite interesting (Alto is wearing the new Macross30 sms uniform, if I am correct) . Plus a new Minmay by Mikimoto (sorry if this is not the right place to post them, please mods feel free to move it)

  • 2 weeks later...

Yes. Dynit (probably the biggest anime/manga label in Italy) is releasing Macross Plus in both DVD and Blu Ray in november 2013. Their stuff is always in italian/japanese so english speakers shouldn't get too excited. It's still pretty interesting because as far as I can see (and if someone knows better do tell!) , it's the first release of a Macross property in the west for quite some time.
