what comic book movie do you not want to see?

i nominate adolescent radioactive black belt hamsters. i had a friend who read this book and he told me about it. according to him, its a ripoff/imitation/"jump on the bandwagon" of teenage mutant ninja turtles.

i biased towards tmnt (i never read arbbh). but i hear that arbbh wasn't bad. so i'll add the other ripoff/imitation/"jump on the bandwagon" comic books to the list.

cold-blooded chameleon commandos

geriatric gangrene jujitsu gerbils

mildly-microwaved pre-pubescent gophers

naive inter-dimensional commando koalas

pre-teen dirty-gene kung-fu kangaroos

Watchmen would be pretty awesome. How about a movie focusing on Wolverine?

Sandman.

God, I hope that movie never gets out of development hell.

judging from the rough script i saw once upon a time which was trying to establish a love story angle between Dream and Rose Walker, and in fact depicted a passionate kissing scene at the end...

yeah, i'd have to agree with you. ^_^

ill have to agree with sandman, even Ant-man i dont want to see made, they both have no substance to carry a 2 hour film.

Wait wait wait..."no substance"...? Are we talking about the same Sandman?

One of the few comics it's not only okay but ENCOURAGED to write a doctoral thesis about, and you say it has no subtance...?

Yeah, Sandman comes to mind straight away. Although it is still in pre-production Hell I think they were trying to get a movie version of Death:The High Cost of Living out... which could work.

I don't want a movie version of Preacher either, even tho I hear it's also on the way.

Death High cost of living could work coz it's a stand-alone story. but they really have to nail it on casting Death. I was mortally afraid when when Fairuza Balk was trying to get herself cast as death a long time ago. ok, i get it, you're goth, but that's not what Death is all about. jeez.

ok,maybe substance was the wrong word, let me re-phase, theres no way to make it into a 2 hour film that will work.

Ah. THAT, I agree with! ^_^

And other people have mentioned the Death: The High Cost of Living movie...I think that one will work, because Neil Gaiman suggested the idea to the studios, saying he kn ew how to make it work, and he'd be writing and directing it. So, at the very least, it's in much better hands.

No, see, with stuff like the Hamsters, it's camp to begin with. If they made a movie and it sucked, you'd nod sagely, reminding others that you knew it would all along. And if it's good, then you'd be pleasantly surprised.

So I actually am going to nominate for any Comic Book Movie I Do Not Want to See anything starring one of DC's mainline characters that isn't Batman. Because every time they do we go to see it, hoping for the best and receiving the worst.

Y'see, I have a hard time nominating anything as a movie I wouldn't want to see, notwithstanding just listing comics I don't like. Even then, I've enjoyed movies made from novels that I didn't particularly enjoy, so the same could happen for comics. Any story, including something as involved as Sandman, could be fertile inspiration for an excellent movie, given the involvement of talented creative minds and performers. What concerns me more is how rarely we get the aforementioned talent. So, for me, it's not a matter of comic book movies I do not want to see, but rather comic movies I do not want to see Hollywood completely screw up. Green Lantern comes to mind. I'm a huge GL fan. I'm looking forward to the animated film, 'cause I've really enjoyed DC's animated films so far (for me, a proven track record). As for a live action one, I'm sorta cautiously hopeful-slash-fatalistically skeptical.
