THE UN-OFFICIAL COLOR SCHEME THREAD

Recommended Posts

Here's something else I worked on today, the heavy boosters for the VF-4 that replace the arms and the normal rockets.

I am glad you go the extra mile to get that done; but just to let you know the original VF-4 booster/Fast pack seems to be bulkier than the ones you represented.

Yeah, I already decided it was too narrow, so I'm going to make it taller later and maybe also change the tail to the more swept-back early one Kawamori has in that lineart.

ok, I said the last one was the final version but while I was working on the battroid mode I realized that the missiles looked like ass in battroid mode. So I went back to using the original VF-4 missiles instead.

I was kind of hoping that someone could do me a huge favor and color these in a couple of schemes. I'd do it myself but I've got a bunch of other things I'm working on and I'd really appreciate some help with this one.

If you're interested let me know and I'll give the details.

please.

I just finished this and I figured I'd post it here as well since line arts are relevant to this thread.

anyway's here it is.

So would this be the VF-41?

To remain within the convention of how the VF-17, became the VF-171 by 2059.... ;)

ve3yy7.th.jpg

In the decades after the end of Space War I and during the reconstruction of Earth and the initial movement of colony missions, most ELINT, recon, C2, and AWACS support was provided by modified VF-1Ds (VEFR-1) or purpose-built ships derived from the VT-1 (VE-1). With the main fighter force transitioning to the VF-4 and VF-5000 variable fighters, a new platform with higher speed and more up to date technology was desired.

The solution Northrom-Grumman came up with was to fit an updated version of the VE-1's sensor and ECM suite in their successful and easily adaptable VA-3 Invader spaceframe. The new craft, called the VE-3 Howler, featured a second crewmember to handle the data load from the sensors and to control the powerful ECM and ECCM systems it was fitted with. The Howler remained completely combat-capable and retained all the pylons and carrying capacity of the base attack plane. Occasionally, in some squadrons and missions, the radar dome could be dismounted to improve speed and maneuver capablilities.

Eventually, the VE-3 was supported by new variable fighter-class craft with a similar mission, versions of the successful VF-11, the VF-17, and VF-171. Despite being slow and vunerable in comparison to the smaller ships, the VE-3 (Redesignated by NUNS as the RVA-3 and carrying an enhanced electronics suite) continues to serve in various planetary defense forces and outlying colonies.

Sweet, a Prowler equivalent to match the VA-3's Intruder counterpart.

Might be just me, but when I click the image, it only shows the top part, the image won't completely load...

EDIT: Nevermind, Imageshack is just damn slow... Love the design though! I've always been a fan of the VA-3, and it just happens that I was looking for a Prowler like VF for a Fan fic project... ^_^B))

It's gotta be hard to see the full-size plane, so here's a smaller reproduction of it that's only 1500 pixels wide. Should be faster to load and easier to see. Let me know if you need any more specs and backstory for the VE-3, as well as crew accommodations and such for your project. I look forward to reading it!

Hi All!!!

I've been busy with Talos' VA-3 Invader profiles, man what alot of fun ESPECIALLY deleting my work the first time...duh...

1. First up is VA-115. Still stationed on Earth as home guard unit after Space War I.

A. A retro colour scheme as worn by the units A-6s in the latter half of the 20th

VA-3VA-115.png

B. The all purpose low-viz as worn by the line craft.

VA-3VA-1152.png

2. SVA-35 is stationed aboard the Saratoga II a Uraga-class escort battle carrier. Saratoga II is stationed at Mars to protect the Helderman research complex/colony.

A. They too painted but the lead bird in a retro scheme initially.

VA-3VA-35.png

B. And again the all purpose low-viz scheme...

VA-3VA-352.png

3. Can't not do some Marine birds now can I?? Both are variation worn by VMA(AW)-224.

A.

VA-3VMAAW-224.png

B.

VA-3VMAAW-224.png

4. Finaly I end with SVA-34 the Blue Blasters. They are stationed on the Independence which patrols out of the New Avalon system.

A. The CAG bird. The tail art is a nod at the units first tail motif durning WW II. It was a pain to make but worth it in the end!!!

VA-3VA-34CAG.png

B. A line bird...

There you go I hope you enjoy these new addidtions! Any requests, hints or hatemail most welcome!!!

*EDIT: Thanks Wolfman for pointing out my screw up :) *

*EDIT: Changed up the ship class, seems a little knowledge is a bad thing ;)*

I'm really looking forward to seeing a few VF-0's in American livery myself.

Seeing as posting is such a PIA what with getting logged out every time I try to post or even change pages how about surfing over to the what-if forums where you can see all of my up loads?

Here's a teaser tho:

Damien, please check your Panthers Invader. The Panthers were VA-35 with the USN.

*Edit* You're quite welcome, Damien.

*Additional Edit* The Saratoga II is a variant of the Uraga-class escort battle carrier.
