Considering how AWESOME the SDF is that we're dreaming up with it's metal skeleton and magnetized mechs.... I'm almost already disappointed by what the real one is going to be. :p

Well, I just hope the knees are metal too so It can do spiffy running, kicking poses. :p

For most members here that are worried about how they are going to present it to their wives, I think this thing should vibrate.

For me... just like any Yamato toy, no gimmicks... and down to only one part that breaks (unless that's a gimmick too...)

Would you guys want the "arms" to be detachable so that you could have scaled ARMD's to escort the sdf-1...or to just zoom around :) Looks like it would be fairly simple to do.

When you see the Destroids underneath the SDF-1, you really do get the sense of shes a Big A$$ Ship!!! I'll find room one way or the other to display this one!! B))

Here a gimmick, No broken parts at all. For the proposed $500+ price tag, better not be anything breaking!!

Or sagging. Those joints had better be tight in order to burden those giant legs and the ARMDs, particularly in fortress mode. My WAVE SDF-1 currently exhibits a bit of both symptoms.

If Yamato is wise enough as far as joints go, they'll take the retro approach and use solid metal parts for the joints & arms. No plastic. For $500.00 it should feel like a solid & heavy toy. B))

I really hope so. i'm hoping for metal throughout the arm, metal joints with some sort of locks and metal brackets in the shoulders to take the stress of the ARMDS hanging off them like that in ship mode.

Sorry, still gotta root for the movie version. I'm unlikely to ever get my dream toy, a 1/48 VF-4, so I want this at least!

Still, I hope the tv version fans get their toy, too.

So it'll probably be almost twice as tall as the Quarter. OHHHHHHH YES! Now if I can just afford both.

Well we at least have a definite length on this thing...65 centimeters (nearly 26 inches). That's 2.13 feet of Macross goodness!

I'm secretly hoping this stupid thing is sooooo limited I can't get my hands on one. Because I might just be willing to part with a kidney by the time I see that thing painted up ... I can't help myself ...
