jenius
$100??? Holy Schnikes! I guess that's in line with what they cost originally... but I'm glad I paid much less by waiting for the bargain bins.

Of course, it included a figure. See http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00030 The original Max Q-Rau was 9800-yen: http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00035

drifand
What he said... "No improvements?" These don't exactly look like good play/display value next to the superlative destroids.
big F
Still Im anoyed I never bought the one I saw in Tokyo for £20 back in the day.
CF18
no improvements? Interesting question. One strange difference I found is the red Q-Rau gun colour: Metallic grey in old version: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/graham/q-rau-pics.htm Metallic grey in Yamatio's own site: http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=1241 Metallic gold/bronze in official pics to retailers: http://www.1999.co.jp/image/10079871a2/20/2 , http://www.hobbystock.jp/item/view/HBY-ACF-00001293

DWN013
Pass, but I would be all over a green TV version.
Ginrai
And people are bitching about the price of the VF-25?
ntsan
I guess people would want bargain priced Q-rau after what they saw at discount haha (I saw one with $40 sale, $71 with max VF-1S) But then no body complains about SV-51/VF-0A/YF-21/YF-19 with over $200 price tag hehe
505thAirborne
I'd rather see a Green TV series version 1st before I buy another one, But as to these re-releases, are there no pilots at all this time, Miria or Max?
nightmareB4macross
Just wondering... Does anyone know if the CMS Max Q-Rau fit inside this? Or do the feet have to modified?
sqidd
I don’t usually comment on price. But $100 for one of these is ridiculous. Yes they are cool because they were in the show/movie but they don’t have anything near the artistic quality that the VF/YF/SV series does. I certainly wouldn’t be buying one so I could stare at it all day saying to myself “That’s beautiful”, which I do a lot of with my VF/YF/SV stuff. To me they are not worth more than $50 max. I don’t base that on perceived production costs, detail, etc. I base it purely on desire. I don’t desire one of those enough to pay more than $50 for it. I would much rather spend a couple more $$ and get another 1/60 v.2.
Sumdumgai
It's just being released to cash in on Frontier, since it's close to a Q-rea and Bandai isn't producing that. Glad I got mine back in the day. A Q-rau v2 to up it to the destroid quality standards would rock!
bluemax151
I never picked up a Makushimirian before so I'm mildly tempted but the mold for the armour isn't too impressive. Like mentioned above these don't stand up well against the Tomahawk.
xsjado
I'd rather see a Green TV series version 1st before I buy another one, But as to these re-releases, are there no pilots at all this time, Miria or Max? it doesn't really fit well. my max tries to explode if i put him inside. his arms are too wide. miriya
Yeah, I have the Milia Quedluun Rau and I love it but I would only buy another if it was a Green one. maybe if I had the $$$ I may be tempted for the Max.
Valkyrie addict
I got my miria q-rau a few years ago for 60 bucks shipped... fair price, I never cared to pay more than a similar price for the max q-rau considering it was only shown on DYRL for about 1 second the q-rau isn't very posable, you need to swap the missile bay from the legs and the interior cockpit detail is seriously lacking, no pilot figure and 100+ for 10 year old toy is very ambitious from Yamato
Fly4victory
no pilot figure and 100+ for 10 year old toy is very ambitious from Yamato To make the Max Q competitive with the Miria Yamato needed to make some changes. Option 1 Add a Max figure. Option 2 Remove the Miria figure. Best advice for the buyer, wait a couple of months and buy them at a discount. AcroRay
I'm a total cheap-455, but $100 is a damn good price for one of these. I was amazed at the one I got pre-owned. They're MASSIVE! And it is nicely posable - at least as much as demonstrated in any of their on-screen appearances. Jasonc
Well, $100 is quite expensive, but I will try to only get the Max Q-rau. That's one I've been waiting on. I'm looking for another red version to do a Macross Frontier Klan Klan custom. The CMS fig of her next to it should be a very nice display. macrossnake
http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00110 early bird No early bird for Max's? Although I am running out cash for buying this... , after buying the Tomahawk and per-order Defender. However I won't be surprise if the 'Green' version come out sometime next year, after seeing all different versions/colour of Tomahawk being/planning made recently. Cybergig1
yeah totally gonna have to snag one since I didn't get one before as for price......oh well I'm an anime fan I'm kinda used to it lol
treatment
even with the hlj early-bird discount, i'm still passing (again) on the Q-Rau as it's still far too unnecessarily expensive just like when it first came out years ago.
ruskiiVFaussie
They should have made a quick couple of new joints to ad to the poseability. Lazy.

BoBe-Patt
Just wondering... Does anyone know if the CMS Max Q-Rau fit inside this? Or do the feet have to modified? If I remember correctly, the max figure came with instructions on how to put the figure in the Q-Rau. I think you have to take the feet off and then put them in. I gotta double check that, but yeah, it should technically fit in the Q-Rau.
eugimon
meh, I would never pay full price for another yammie q-rau, especially considering how poorly it measures up to yamato's more recent offerings. edit: actually, it measured up pretty poorly back when it was first released. I remember my first thought as I got it out of its box, "I paid how much for this?". Edited February 16, 2009 by eugimon
