I ran the first one of these polls a few months ago for episodes 1-10 and (surprise surprise) episode 7 "First Attack" easily won. I wanted to run a second one a few weeks ago but had to wait for a chance.

So here we go, out of the 15 episodes from 11-25, which one did you like best. You can explain why too if you want.

Have fun,

I voted for Your Sound because it had everything PLUS the kitchen sink thrown in.

Diamond Crevasse follows at a VERY close second because of the emotional thrill ride.

I have the same opinion but reversed; Your Sound follows very very closely Diamond Crevasse. Your Sound was a wonderful episode that was almost everything that I could have wanted (and hopefully an extended version will have everything that I want) - a thrill of a ride that I can only compare to Exodus Part II from Battlestar Galactica: Both had me on the seat of my pants the from beginning to end.

However, the moment that moved me most in the series was Diamond Crevasse, because in 24 minutes I went from not really caring for a kinda cocky and somewhat cliched high-school casanova (who, to his credit, was also fun and rejected a very willing loli) to being totally traumatized by his death, irrationally wishing that there was a way from him to survive despite knowing very well that it would be both physically impossible and would cheapen the entire series. That is what I call bloody good storytelling.

Ok having finally rewatched the series in its entirety (and bracing myself for still another marathon), i can now declare that Episode 25 is my favorite Mac F episode. Just gave me goosebumps. and i don't think i'll ever get tired of watching it again and again. :)

Diamond Crevasse - because of the impact and way it stirred the emotions :o - BEST episode of the entire series. I would place Last Frontier and Your Sound second equal, Your Sound let down be the lame resolution to the triangler!

I picked 17 because of Bassara.

and because I couldn't remember which episode had Sheryl and Ranka singing What Bout My Star together to Alto... I liked that episode alot - oh - yeah - it was the "overview/summary" episode which I also hated at the beginning...was THAT episode 15?

I'm such a shitty voter :) Hopefully people don't have the above thoughts when voting for important ellected officials :)

heheheh :)

"I voted for candidate B 'cause I couldn't rememba candidate A - that is, I know it said A on the poll, but I'll be durned if I could put a face on that feller...oh wait - wasn't he the one I really liked more than B? Aw shucks ;) "

I'm torn: it's not a fair choice, just because Episode 25 is simply so climactic that my mind want to set it aside and choose between 11-14 instead. It's not without flaws, being a bit rushed, but it seemed to pace its content much better than I was expecting, such that even with so much happening I felt like I was watching an episode closer to double length than single. It drew me back to the "I can't believe so much just happened" of episode 27 of SDFM, and in a good way. Plus the mecha porn, the adrenaline, character decisions that seemed sudden but somehow fit the pace. Anime is a medium filled with disappointing final episodes and this was a big exception for me.

So if I have to put 25 aside and pick another? I'd say 20: it has pivotal events on characters and setting, and sets up the shift to anger and desperation that carries the final part of the story. Also, the "Alto as war hero?" thread got me to examine claims that was the central role of the story after all; her final decision not to fade away in silence at a time when she had every reason to despair is what makes such an argument even plausible.
