Macross 25th Anniversary Special Eizou = ALL THAT VF

There's a 640x480 floating around the net if anyone is interested.

I was just curious though was that all? I mean I expected something more than just 2:07 minutes.

I had posted somes questions in the news thread, but it seem inappropriate, since well its THE "Macross Frontier News Thread III" and I guess ALL THAT VF isn't hot news anymore. :p AND most of my questions weren't answered as well. :(

MY POST AT: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?s=&a...st&p=637936

I don't have the guts to start a new thread about this.....so I was wondering.....I've seen a WMV9 640x480 clip of ALL THAT VF floating around the net, and I was just curious how long is this? Is it really just 2:07 minutes, long?

What is the music playing when the VFs do the maneuvers?

I have other questions as well but I don't want to spoil it for others so I'm using spoiler tags. :)

Also did Alto's & Mikhail's VF-25s just do the battroid free fall ala Isamu from Macross Plus?

Another thing....was that the (U.S. Navy) Blue Angels' color scheme that the groups of VF-1s and VF-25s were sporting?

BTW,

why is there a "MacrossF_Ver." tag on the clip I saw? Does that mean there will be more? SDFM Version? DYRL Version? Macross Plus Version? Macross 7 Version? Macross Zero Version?

:blink::wacko:

ALSO, according to Master Dex, the music being played is "Welcome to my Fan Club Night" by Sherly/May'n. It is on OST 1. <<=== Thanks for the info Sulendil Ang. :D

There will be a Macross Zero version as well. There's no telling if it'll be different, and if it is, how. From the print material that I have read (in Japanese, from official sources), it's only available from the BD#1 of MF and the M0 BD release.

I just hope that it is released eventually on a BD, as the resolution quality of even the 1 MB version was way, way, waaaaaaaaaaayyyy lower than the stuff they flashed on the screen behind the sponsors during the last few episodes.

I posted it in the YouTube videos thread. Sadly it was ignored.

Anyway, here's the link again.

I was pleasantly surprised to see both Alpha One and Omega One flying with the 25s.

EDIT: While were at it, why not change this thread into an official All That VF thread and (hopefully) have it pinned?

Out for awhile and no one made a thread....thought no one cared.

The video was awesome. I always envision an airshow everytime i hear that song though. The sheryl and ranka guard fighters part was really dodgy especially the colored contrails.....and why does it have to end with that not particularly quality scene of ranka and sheryl's duet? >_<

I actually liked that "mock dogfight" that they did (although the coloured contrails made me think of Max and Miria at first).

BTW, the contrails those two fighters make while flying reminded me a lot of the YF-19 & YF-21 just as they entered Earth's atmosphere. You know the part where "Dogfight" starts to play. :)

The problems i had with the contrails was it felt unsmooth and out of place. If it was smoke and not red/blue light trail might probably look better.

I agree, i was way to fast and it looked like an artist took a pencil in each hand and drew lines with both hands at the same time.

It's there. I've spotted it as well.

It could have just been added as an Easter egg for sharp eyed viewers. And as they already have the 3D CG model, it's not like they went to a bunch of extra effort to do it.

That said, you don't consider Diamond Force to be of hero status?

Man they better release more of "all that VF" 2 minutes was a joke.

Definitely cool, but gimme 30+minutes of all the valks doing their thing.

This has the potential of being super mecha porn...

Let's hope it turns out better than "Macross Mecha Grafitti," which I thought was rather dull.

I'm still not seeing it. Sure you aren't mistaking it for the 21? It never appears again, and it just seems illogical for one to be there given the "hero" status of the other Valks we see.

Yeah that looks like a VF-171 but man if they have that, then they should of had the VF-11 Thunderbolt since it saw more wars and conflicts than any other main streem fighter. And I guess also VF-4 since it replaced the VF-1

As I already mentioned:

(...) And as they already have the 3D CG model, it's not like they went to a bunch of extra effort to do it. (...)

The VF-11, on the other hand, would involve a bunch of additional man-hours to make, and it would definitely get more airtime.

I'll add this: aside from the YF-19 and YF-21, all of the VFs in it have made an appearance in Macross F (VF-1, VB-6, VF-171, VF-25 varients).

I think VFX-2 opening is far more better, it got VF-1, VA-3, VF-11, VF-17, VF-19, VF-22, and VB-6. I think they will release a second part of 'all that VF' showing the rest of the valk.

Doubtful, in that the 3DCG animation software used is different. At the very least, the models used in VF-X2 would have to be seriously "detailed up" ;)

Also, a bunch of the models, and possibly some of the animation used in the opening of VF-X2 were from the failed "Macross3DVFX" series (OVA? Movie?) You can catch the pilot film for that on the 20th Anniversary DVD.
