In the Gattai sub of episode # 6 at 09.20, you see the recording of the transmission from the Galaxy captain(?) and in the Gattai sub he says: "The damn bugs have taken Mainland! Please! Someone!" At first I thought this was a translation error by Gattai, as they are AFAIK, the only fansub group to use the word "Mainland" in this scene, but then I listened closely, just concentrating on what the character is saying and he clearly says "Mainland" in English. I'm guessing that Mainland is the name of the main colny ship in the Galaxy fleet. Graham Sounds like "Main Line" to me. Makes more sense too. As Shun said, they weren't clear in the first posted pic. Plus, how would you know that the English is the same? There are quite a few instances of the Japanese being different than the English in these types of things...For example (as Shouta pointed out in another thread), we've got the posters for Sheryl saying, in English, "THE GALACTIC SONGSTRESS," but in Japanese, they call her "The Galactic Fairy." By the way, there seem to be a bunch of new raws up...I'm downloading the new DivX 704x396, and hoping for the best...it's a different file size than the previous one, so I'm hoping it's better... I have the Shinsen-raws and TV-Japan 1280 x 720 releases (mp4 and avi), and neither of them have the brightness/contrast issues of the 704 x 396 release. Though the battle scenes were some of the best I've seen so far. Also, I really wish they decide on a body type for Sheryl because its been very inconsistant. "You know you've been watching too much Macross when..." What is good is that he drops that gay persona when things get serious. The true depth of his character comes to life then. I thought he was just that annoying character in the background, but that is not the case. Well...let's be realistic. It's kind of hard to act ANYTHING but dedicated to the job when you're piloting a largish battle cruiser like it's bumper car. Did you really expect him to say things like, "Alto~! When you get your cute buns back in here, you wanna feel MY Heavy Quantum Reaction Cannon~?" Of course not...just like Captain Wilder grabbed Monika's butt BEFORE the battle, not during it... Good. I don't know about anyone else, but it wasn't just brightness/contrast for me on the previous raw. sdf2501 Posted May 16, 2008 Share Posted May 16, 2008 (edited) Looking closely at when the VF-27 shot at Alto & Luca, the beam hits the leftover cabling that was holding Luca's Valkyrie in place, but also hits his gunpod so it's hard to say if he was trying to help or was just being an ass. Edit: Actually, looking closer, it's hard to say because of the lack of depth perception. Could be that he was aiming and missed because the damage to the cabling was minimal. Mr March Posted May 16, 2008 Share Posted May 16, 2008 There has to be some kind of connection between Mr. Bilrer and the VF-27? pilot. The timing is just too convenient; the battle is raging, then the report comes back to the Macross Frontier via a relay and when Bilrer sees this, he reacts to it with his little ring thing. Next up, the purple VF-27 appears and pilot guy is zooming around like a blur on the battlefield. Then he "helps" Luca and Alto, but not quite. If anything of Luca's reconaissance mission actually survives into the next episode I'll be amazed. You can see what may be the NUNS insignia just as it starts to fly infront of Michel (after the reflection in his helmet), and again just as the VF-27 transforms and flies away as the Quarter moves in for the kill. Its on the top of the wing. I could be wrong, and Kresphy could be wrong, but it looks like the NUNS insignia to me. It also has a new one toward the nose, wish I could grab a screenie of it. Would have been a whole different ballgame on those missions... Yeah, they look alike. I just don't like the 'ear' type antennas on the sides of the VF-27's head. Yep, when the image pans even more closely to the cockpit, the fuselage insigna can be seen more clearly and it seems nuns. Only time will tell.
