Like most of the two-parters, this felt like setup for something big, and I can't tell what it will be, or what will even be involved. On a personal level, things are already looking bad, with Lee alienating everyone around him (and quitting), Tigh apparently going kookoo (but if he's going kookoo, then why did Anders hear the music also? (And what's with Anders making the move on the new girl? Fast work, bro...)), and Roslin having cancer again (the prophecy said she wouldn't make it to earth...). So if things are unraveling in the micro, I'm guessing they'll move to the macro soon enough... EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to mention. Caprica punching Tigh was one of the greatest moments ever. We were talking about that for months (as you pointed out BTW) Ron Moore even comented on it too. ..... there must be some kind of way outa here.... Go ahead and watch Razor now and then continue on with S4. Also what did you think of Lee's speach? I found it as the a defining moment for him. Funny how I'm all excited again....reliving it through Gubba. While I didn't love S4 as much as the first 2 seasons, It was still far better than anything else on tv. Most suprising moment of S4 For Me, was Dee's suicide, totally didn't see that comming, I figured they were going to reveal her as the final Cylon. That IS my favourite line in the entire series. It also makes me think how can it be that somebody so damn sure about some things can be so terribly lost about other things. Or viceversa. Tigh and Tyrol would come out as weaker charcters in my mind (can't really explain why without S4 spoilers). Not to mention the impact on supporting characters. Some things just seemed stretched beyond the breaking point for plausibility (Anders, for example, being a sports star. If the BSGverse is anything like our world - and lets face it, it is - he would've been scouted since high school and entire life would be public). Yes, yes, yes...that was truly one of the most heroic moments in the entire series so far. And no...my DVD provider DIDN'T bring Razor OR Season 4 today... But one thing I've been thinking about (don't answer please) is that...after Exodus, when the Colonials lost Hera, I though, "Well, at least they've still got one human/Cylon hybrid - Casey." But then of course, it turned out that Casey wasn't half-Cylon, but unbeknownst to all of us...they always had Nicky. No wonder there was the big deal about having Nicky on New Caprica rather than on Galactica... EDIT: Um, no edit here. Nothing happened. It's all in your imagination. Hmm...If I were writing the show, I probably would have said that the Final Five (or should I say "Penultimate Four"...?) were built to replace existing humans...so that a human Colonel Tigh existed, but at some point was replaced with a Cylon copy... The episode itself I greatly enjoyed but the vey, very, last bit of it was horrible... really just that last 15 minutes or so... or even just the last 5 minutes it's been a while since I watched the finale. I love how everyone in the civilian government is portrayed as a deluded weakling, and only through martial law can the fleet be protected from naive idiocy. I also love Boomer's little "putting the shuttle into a dive" stunt, which would've been convincing if they'd, y'know, HAD AN ATMOSPHERE, but which makes no sense in space. Really, apart from the lack of good writing, the thing that bugs me most in the original show is the contempt for the laws of science in it. Pretty much like Knight Rider 2008 KITT after the Transformer movie, with KARR as a robot with Peter Cullen's voice. Battlestar Galactica had a lot of goofs like what is a galaxy. Oh yeah if you're going to watch Razor don't trust the ship sizes in one scene. A lot of inconsistencies in that shot. These are the more less correct sizes of the Colonial Fleet. Galactica - 1438.64 m Length, 536.84m Width, 183.32m Height Pegasus (Mercury Class)- 1789.8 m Length Valkyrie – around 700 m length (Based on Viper tube sizes and The Plan) Berzerk Escort - 842 m Length, 215m Width, 118 m Height (Irrational Design numbers) Think of the Galactica and Pegasus like the Macross class and Battle class of the Colonial Fleet, without the Macross cannons. While the other two as ARMDs, Urugas, Northamptons, Guantanamos and Stealth Cruisers. The Valkyrie closer to a mini-battlestar an analog would be the Macross Quarter. After all these years since the beginning of the show, I still feel sorry for Boxey in both versions. Battlestar 1980 had Boxey named Troy. Some 20 years after the original series. I totally wanted to BE Boxey when I was a kid. Now I find his scenes rather nauseating in their bald-faced grab at the Pre-pubescent Male demographic. I feel a little sorry for Boxey in the new version, because I don't think I've seen him since he was playing cards with Boomer the miniseries. I thought he was actually going to be a character, instead of just a little in-joke thrown in to make people think, "PLEASE, Lord, don't let him get a robot dog!" I'm not a big mecha-head, so I doubt I would've noticed any inconsistencies. But since you pointed them out, they'll probably be obvious to me now. Really, as long as spaceships and fighters and things look relatively functional and don't break the laws of physics TOO blatantly, I'm pretty happy.
