ghostryder
I didn't notice this before but looking at battroid mode, that shoulder/arm joint looks scary (as in, it looks like a place where breakage can occur). The part that seems to hang and looks like plastic 'reverse C'. Attached to it looks like a balljoint. Camera angle tricking my eyes or is that really all that's holding the arm? Looks to be the same ball joint/shoulder assembly as the VF-0, except without the scary modular shoulder armor design. I think this is necessary to accomodate the updated swingbar and to eliminate the low-hanging arms in fighter mode. miriya
I am loving this Hikaru VF-1A. Didnt it have strike in DYRL? Loving the head sculpt on this 1A! I am really wanting VF-1D the most really and a VF-1J hikaru tv fp version. I hope those come out soon. I may not be able to hold out though. The more I see this 1/60v.2 line the more I love it! CRAP!!!! Do I spend my money on dating or save it for Valks?
danth
Not that anyone else really doubted it, but Graham has confirmed to me through PM that the new VF-1 indeed has an integral heat shield.
OmegaD3k
Perfect! The only thing which bothers me is the unappealing back-pack thrusters. Other than that, this thing's a beauty! Hopefully Yamato will release other pain schemes this time. I'm tired of getting the same old DYRL VF-1S/A with the same colors, over and over and over again. However I did miss out on the old 1/60 and 1/48 M&M valks. Looks like now will be the perfect time! Edited June 9, 2008 by OmegaD3k
miriya
Wouldn't it be nice to have a lineup with a time line? That way we would know which ones they will produce and when.

Kyp Durron
Whoa, that was quick, they already have a production sample of the Hikaru 1A. I bet the next one you'll see will be the Max 1A followed by Kakizaki's 1A completing the DRYL skull squadron. After that, I'm betting either the first two seat variants will come out, or they'll have the T.V. valks out first. -Kyp
eriku
I'm really wishing for a non-standard release schedule. I don't want to wait through the standard 1S's, 1J's, 1A's etc before they finally get to the 1D, the Ostrich, the Elintseeker and even Low-Vis. I wouldn't even mind if the next release was an Angelbirds. I think the best solution would be to release two birds at a time - one standard and one specialty. So they could release a Hikaru 1A and the Ostrich, a Max 1J and a Low Viz, etc. Make us all happy.

Anything but another DYRL valk, unless it's a two-seater.

DYRL paint schemes = boring (except the 2 seaters which are obviously pretty unique). Gimme TV and non-canon schemes!
eriku
Even if they don't want to release two valks at a time, at least stagger them. Like: Roy 1S, 1D, Hikaru 1A, Elintseeker, Max 1J, Super Ostrich, Miriya 1J, Low Vis. Have I made my point yet?
miriya
Those Vampire demons are Fing with us again! They know that we can not hold out for the 2 seaters and the non cannon. They are depending on our impatience and obsessiveness and will probably follow the same release strategy as before with little information or notice. It is already working. I made a decision that I would only get the 2 seaters, and the VF-1Js but now that I see that VF-1A Hikaru I with no release dates for the others in sight I am having serious itchy finger syndrome with this (even though there are no preorders yet). How many of us will really wait 8 months for the variation that we want? I am guessing that most of us will "have to" get one of these because we can not wait to have one of the VF-1 1/60 V.2s in our hands.

Gimme TV and non-canon schemes! i concur other than the TV schemes have gotten boring as well. i'd like them to release these valk in this order, 1D, VE, VT, then whatever. this way i can get what i want now and i can avoid coming here for a while. its not that i don't like this place but all the pics that get posted here doesn't help me fight my life long battle with valkohol, if anything it just fuels my addiction. ruskiiVFaussie
Ahh, looks great. But i'll snub this one as well and wait for the Max 1A. (atleast i know the Max 1A should get Strike/Super FPS!)

ruskiiVFaussie
I want to know what the box art for the new 1/60's will be like. Are they going to do something refreshing or not? If they aren't up to much scrap maybe i might order this, atleast i'll get a 1A head, and i'd be able to get a head recast (hopefully) for a 1S Hikky. :-)
Vi-RS
The eyepiece on the 1A head has more details and they have finally gotten the correct shape. The previous eyepiece on the 1A head is upside down.
MacrossMan
Pics of the VF-1A are already out in Yamato's website: http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/zoomer.ph.../h&gid=1201 Oh my damn! Is this cannon? I thought only Hikaru's VF-1S had the strike cannon. Doesn't matter. I'll be copping this baby!
Kyp Durron
Since I'm only interested in the Roy 1S, I can easily pass on the Hikaru 1A. Now when they start coming out with the Hikaru 1S and especially if they do a Max 1S, then I might have a harder time passing those up. -Kyp

EXO
Yamato, Include an interchangeable 1S head with the Hikky 1A and nobody gets hurt. Love, The cash-strapped members of MacrossWorld I kinda agree about that. It seems like they wouldnt really lose money if they included all 3 heads to each toy, a la Banpresto. Hikaru's DYRL scheme is the only time they ever double dipped on the scheme by making a head change. Besides, now they are releasing a super and a regular version. So the real collectors will be buying the same toy twice just to get the packaging. So what do you say Yamato??? Give us some head! Uhhh... wait... I'm sure translated in Japanese, that would sound a lot better. Well no matter how it sounds... it's a happy ending.

So the real collectors will be buying the same toy twice just to get the packaging. Right. I really think adding 1S heads to the DYRL Hikky & Max 1A's would change the general fan reception from "Meh, this again" to "Sweet holy Jebus!" And judging from the forearm-mounted fuselage gimmick, the heads are detachable anyway.
Hikuro
Personally I think they just snapped picture sto quickly and didn't change the cannon to the standard packs......like seeing a Transformer not transformed properly.....it happens.
treatment
No brainer on this. I am getting the Hikky-1A v2.0 as soon as the preorder-page is up. I anticipate Yamato will bring out the Max-1A and the CF-1A, too.

sidearmsalpha
I didn't notice it on pics of the VF-1S before, but I like how the close-up cockpit of the VF-1A Hikaru shows that the canopy has two tabs to secure it to the fuselage better. Hopefully, the canopy will have better bottom edges than the 1/48's. Anyone ever notice how the 1/48 canopies are rough at the bottom edges so you can clearly see into the cockpit in parts when it's closed because it doesn't meet the fuselage smoothly? Never liked that. I hope these new 1/60's don't have that problem.
