1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?

There's nothing to suggest that HLJ gets big discounts from Yamato.

really? then how come you can open a wholesale account with them?

they're one of the biggest toy distributors and buy in greater volume than any brick and mortar shop.

more volume = costs less.

But I'd like to know where you see it sold for $100.

not someone i want to shop with but yes, toy-wave has them for $100.

they might be $118 now but this was his post from april 28th....

It's $118 at Toy Wave (not including shipping from HK).

I think the weak American dollar is more of the issue than HLJ's pricing.

My pre-order email receipt says $100. Of course this was Apr. 24 so the price has gone up since then.

I remember when 1500 yen was less than $10 <_<

No offense to Yamato but besides waiting on a paint scheme I want I think I'll wait it out for a "debugged" release. Preordering is still extremely tempting though especially since it has all the TV/DYRL bits all in one. Time to exercise that self control (see: drinking)

With all this buzz of the new 1/60's do you think Yamato is going to produce as many variations as it did with the 1/48's i.e. Angel Birds, Woodland, Low-viz color schemes? Besides the perfect transformation, how much does it differ from the current 1/60's? Does anyone know if this new 1/60 is compatible with the current 1/60 GBP armor? If this was answered already I apologize, i missed it.

It differs a lot from the 1/48: -

  • Better articulation = more poseable.
  • More tampo printing, including the UN Spacy kit on the nose and other markings.
  • Better proportions in all three modes (IMO).
  • No ugly seem running down middle of the face on the VF-1S.
  • Nose cone doesn't hang past the kness like the 1/48.
  • Missiles attach much more firmly to the wings.
  • *Special gimmick..............to be revealed later*.
  • Articulated hands proprtionally larger than on the 1/48.
  • Hands hold gunpod much more securely.
  • Tighter joints overall.
  • improved foot thruster detail - no more split thruster detail like on 1/48.
  • Special ********** on canopy
  • Folding fins on legs, to more easly accomodate GBP.
  • Locks together more solidly in all three modes, especially fighter mode.
  • Nose cone and flaps fixed, so won't fall off like on the 1/48.

It's not a scaled down 1/48, it's a complete redesign, improved in many ways and very playable and solid feeling.

Not sure if it will fit the old 1/60 GBP. I threw mine away in disgust, so don't have a set to test.

Not sure on what variation colors Yamato will release yet.

*Special gimmick..............to be revealed later*.

Ok...time to play guessing game!! :)

The gimmick is that you can fold out the repair-robot-arm that was used in SFM TV episode 2? :)

Or better yet that when you open the head the chair slids out? :)

Or better still - press a button and the figure plays "Kyun Kyun! Kyun! Kyun!"

On that note - I was actually JUST about to write how happy I was the Yamato stuff doesn't have gimmicks :)

But I guess it depends on what we mean by gimmick?

They'd damn well better release them all since they've touted the fact that it's been designed to incorporate two-seater variants. :p

It sounds like the value of the original 1/60 line really will be going down the toilet with all the improvements Graham mentioned. Makes me sooo glad I never bothered to invest in them.

I'm guessing the new gimmick is a detachable cockpit module that can be attached to the arm of a 1/60 battroid.

OOOoooooo good guess. It may just be.

my guess...

head guns and fast pack are able to shoot out bullets

special light effects on canopy

press a button and the whole damn thing transforms by itself (fat hope :D )

light up visor (opps! duck from flying stones)

  • Better articulation = more poseable. Nice.
  • More tampo printing, including the UN Spacy kit on the nose and other markings. Nice.
  • Better proportions in all three modes (IMO). Two out three isn't bad. Not too fond on the battroid.
  • No ugly seem running down middle of the face on the VF-1S. Nice.
  • Nose cone doesn't hang past the kness like the 1/48. Nice.
  • Missiles attach much more firmly to the wings. Cool.
  • *Special gimmick..............to be revealed later*. HEAD WILL TILT FORWARD AND ALLOW SEAT TO SLIDE UPWARDS OR HEAD TELESCOPES UP AND DOWN TO TUCK INTO THE FUSELAGE BETTER IN FIGHTER MODE.
  • Articulated hands proprtionally larger than on the 1/48. Nice.
  • Hands hold gunpod much more securely. Finally.
  • Tighter joints overall. Cool.
  • improved foot thruster detail - no more split thruster detail like on 1/48. Cool.
  • Special ********** on canopy. HEADS UP DISPLAY (HUD)
  • Folding fins on legs, to more easly accomodate GBP. Yay, for GBP, coming soon!!
  • Locks together more solidly in all three modes, especially fighter mode. Nice.
  • Nose cone and flaps fixed, so won't fall off like on the 1/48. Nice to have the same gimmicks as the 1/48.

Graham. Thanks, Graham.

Special gimmicks can be any number of things. But for now this is what I'm guessing.

I think when Graham says the nose cone and flaps are "fixed" he means they're no longer detachable/movable and not that they stay on better.

I hope so.

Yo know what would be very cool? Camera details behind the head's visor just like in the YF-19!!! BTW looking at the pictures I bet the VT-1 will be the best valk of this line.

Let me guess too. Auto-morphing, like those transformers movie toys. e.g. heat shield extend/retract automatically

I'd love to have a VF-1 with accurate exhausts....ie the padles or bars instead of the standard circular exhaust. So far I don't think anyone has gotten that correct Yamato, Bandia, hasegawa ect... although the super possibles may have had them not sure though.
