YAHOO AUCTIONS - JAPAN

Does anyone have any information as to whether they released any other metal plated variants, besides the two we know of (VF-1S Strike, VF-1S)?

I wonder if anyone has compiled a list of all known Hasegawa Macross kits and decals?

Jesse,

That's a great idea, and it's cool of you to offer. ;)

HLJ has the most complete list, but it doesn't include the event/rare releases, which makes sense, because they were not commercially available.

The Hasegawa site is not complete as you mentioned, and is missing quite a few. In addition, the list the new Super/Strike Combo. set as a VF-1A, which it could be, but is also a VF-1S potentially.

At the bottom of the list is "QC3," and it mentions a "VF-1," but other than that, I have no idea what it is referencing.

I want to thank Noel for being cool enough to end the VF-1S metal plated auction and sell direct to me. I knew I wanted the kit as soon as I learned it existed.

Now I need the rare clear version, and the event only red/blue/green set.

Sincerely,

Christopher B))

Odd...even their own website doesn't list everything. Someone should update them all on the MW model site. Hey Shawn/Graham...I'd be happy to start collecting information and pictures for you.

Thanks for the link, Jesse.

Hm..... I wonder why Hasegawa doesn't show the kit of Max YF-21 in the picture?

Yeah, the VF-22S, the Low Viz., Max/Millia Combo., the "Virgin Road" VF-1D, F-14, Mig-29, and probably some others.

Maybe they aren't including variants in their list for some unknown reason. There should be a resource that lists all of the Hasegawa Macross kits to include promotional, event only, and limited edition releases.

Sounds like a good idea considering the popularity of the kits. ;)

Noel, changing your ways are we? I guess you've learned a thing or two since you had the D'Stance posted a couple years ago. Either that or was Chris more persistant then I was?

Just curious,

Carl

FOUND IT!

Looks like metal plated 1A, 1J, and 1S...so they did them all and the Strike.

Those are actually the limited retail release versions of the colored clear VF-1. These include special Model Graphics decals while the hobby show releases (all white box) only have the standard decals.

Part of the problem Noel is not knowing what rare and wonderful things are out there to be had sometimes. Like that 1/72 sounds booster for the VF-19, had no idea it actually existed but but when I found out about it I wanted it. I still want the weapons set from the same manufacturer for the 19.

Woah, thanks a lot Jesse.

I almost dropped a load when I read your post, and thought I was missing something else, that I never knew existed.

Seems like they only did the VF-1S and VF-1S Strike via "metal" plated.

It wasn't a matter or persistence, but Noel and I go way back, plus I asked really nicely. I agree that MW fans need to look out for one another, and I'll end an auction in a minute for a fellow MW fan, and I have before without a second thought. I won't bid on an auction or secretly offer a seller more if I know that a MW member needs something for their collection. Honor, nobility, and trust.

Noel has been paid the price he was seeking, and he hooked me up with the elusive Clear VF-1 as well.

I'm on the top of his list for the event only clear versions next, and I thank him for his assistance and friendship. After I get those my Hasegawa collection will be complete.

The still available normal red/blue/green versions are more than worth the price for the decals. That's why I bought them.

Can you scan or give me some idea about what the decals are?

And does each kit have a different set of decals or are they same in all three?

All right, I have them in front of me...just for you. ;) Even though I never got your VF-1D parts. :p

Yes, all three (red/blue/green) come with the same decal sets.

First, you have the standard DYRL sheet, with Hikaru, Hayao and Max.

Second, you get a fold out full page, which shows (7) side profile shots of various valkyries, and at the bottom is a custom Hasegawa "2500th" Valkyrie. Each valkyrie has the squadrons name and then information written in Japanese. Squadrons/Title: SVC-8, 2500th, SVF-113, SVF-2, 39SQ, SWTC, SVT-44

Finally, you get the custom decal sheet, which is covered by a matched protective paper. It includes various decals, and the majority you would need to complete each version when combined with the standard sheet.

Hope that helps. B))

whats up?

Hello Noel,

I'm doing well. I'm in my new home but I'm still in the unpacking stages.

did you also want the same kit Chris wanted?

Oh, no. No problem there. I was just commenting because I remember in the past you were never willing to end an eBay auction early. I believe I tried to get you to do just that that time you had a D'Stance YF-21 posted... what was that about 2 years ago now? I may not have tried very hard though. I believe you are well within your right to do what you want to. I wasn't trying to imply you had stepped on mine or anyone else's toes

if so, I am sorry, as I did not know about that.

No need to be sorry. I was just curious if you were changing some of your practices. It may come in handy down the road if I ever see one of your auctions that I REALLY want.

I have the list of stuff you are looking for, and this metal plated VF-1S was not one of them perhaps I am wrong, I am always still looking for that D'stance YF-21 for you

You are correct. The metal plated VF-1S is not on my list at the moment. I don't have one but at the moment I haven't been hit with the bug to complete my Hasegawa collection. Atleast not yet. ;)

Hope I have not stepped on anyone's toes

My toes are good. No need to worry my friend,

Carl

Still looking for that D'stance Carl

:)

Noel

WOW!!! That was fast. You saw my post before I had a chance to edit it the way I wanted to. The only way I know to break up your quote is to post a short message and then edit it.

And to your question YES!!!! I'm still looking for a D'Stance. Do you have one? :)

Carl

Me too. Add me to that list Noel. Grayson, do you have the sound booster kit?

Here's a good idea Noel, next time you go to wonderfest you should write down all the Macross things there are even if you don't buy them. That way you could tell us about them and then we could tell you what we would like to get from the list and then you could keep your eyes open for us.

Just a thought.

Wow, suddenly the VB-6 is no longer hard to find. ;)

Right after the recast project was started, (3) have become available.

Coincedence? I'm not sure, but it is definitely interesting, and makes me wish I could buy it.

Maybe we should pretend to be recasting the D'Stance YF-21. :)

LOL! I'll get right on it.

Seriously though, it's more likely a case of the kit owners unloading them before the Yamato toy is released, in fear of their value dropping once they're out. But from what I can see, that isn't the case at all so far. I've seen at least 4 in the past few months, and all of them sold for over $600. Even the ones with low starting bids. So they're still holding their value rather well, it seems.

But now that I think about it, that's probably only how it started. The first guy unloaded his kit (which Carl bought for a pretty hefty sum), then a few other owners decided to follow in suit, after seeing what kind of cash they're fetching.

That's probably what's going through the head of this latest guy. His auction has a starting bid of Y60,000 (about $600), but it also has a reserve on it! (that's what the red text above "will not ship internationally" means). So you know he's looking to make some cash on it.

Wow, I've never heard of the 1/20 VF-1 kit you provided the auction link to.

I used to own the 1/24 polystone kit, but it was basically a lightly detailed fragile brick. It was very heavy, and the paint prone to chipping.

This kit looks like resin based upon the color, but it must be plastic. It includes a pilot, and what looks to be a nicely detailed cockpit.

I'm not sure, but the landing gear don't look like they are metal, but then the kit does not appear to be that heavy since it isn't solid.

Oh, it's definitely a resin kit. It's made by R.S.B., and sold only at events (probably WonderFest). It's one of three VF-1 kits they made, the others being 1/48 and 1/35 scale.

It looks like it's based heavily on the Hasegawa. But from what I can see, it's got some proportion problems.... The taper at the end of the gunpod, for example, is WAY off.

well, I guess it's just meant to be a real bomb instead of a gunpod. After all this sucker can't transform anyway. Maybe they are trying to make it look real as possible. :p:D:lol:

Well, if you've got 500,000 yen (~$5,000), you can get it. The guy even ships internationally (although if he declared the whole value customs would make you get a bonded agent for it).
