Yeah, we definitely are. I had a 1/48 Variable Calibur but I let it go (definitely couldn't do it justice). A friggin huge Imai 1/350 Yamato model. To give you an idea how big this thing is, it's about 2 and a half feet long (and probably the biggest Yamato model out there) http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g20198739 Macross 7 stuff - looks to be interesting http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/68958142
robokochan
Hey Guys, I am so happy! I just got this! Yes it is a Hasegawa VF-1A, but it is autographed by the great froating head himself! It may not be much but it is something I have always wanted.
Myersjessee
EXCELLENT! Congrats Rob! You should get that framed and put it up on a wall.

wwwmwww
Congrats Rob. Signed kits... hmmm... that's something I've never thought about before. I'd probably beter not start now either. LOL!!! nemesis120 or anyone else, I sort of like that Imai 1/350 Yamato model. Star Blazers was the first piece of Anime I remember watching. Either that or Speed Racer, anyone remember which came first? Anyways can anyone tell me how common this kit is? With selling and buying a house next week now is not the best time for me to pick somethink like that up. However I really like that bare wood and metal look. Anyone here have this kit and can comment on it? Thanks, Carl

Thanks, Carl This is the first time I've seen that kit, although I wasn't really looking, although I'd guess it's rare, especially as it has the newer Imai logo, so odds are there weren't a lot made. It will come up again (everything does, even Treads).

I think it sold for like $200 (or somewhere around there, but definitely not $300) 200? Really? I think that's what it was going for (if it were close to this, someone would have bought it). I've seen stuff go for so little on Yahoo JP. A $40 (missing like 2 armor pieces with a hugely ripped box) gbp-1s giftset, $40 HCMs (mostly the complete but like one or two comical ones), $30 1990 hi-metal super valks and generally like $30-$50 boxed takatokus ($50 seems to be the max for the vf-1s and hikarus vf-1j), although these are like the cheapest i've seen. And I'm not even getting into Orguss or Yamato stuff (although Dorvack stuff goes for more on Yahoo JP and Mospeada is the same price) Edited July 2, 2004 by nemesis120
Myersjessee
Yep...$200 sounds right...I bid on that one..but not enought...its a cool kit...but at 1/100 I hate spending that much... (thus I have no SHE kits either)
nemesis120
Well, the SHE kits are technically non-scale. I just stay away from models as I don't have the time to make them look good. I saw a 1/850 (or is it 1/900?) Nomura Yamato go for like $30 (the thing is like half diecast and the cheapest it's been on ebay is $200). I knew I should have bid on it (adds that to the pile of stuff I should have bid on)
Myersjessee
LOL...my list of tings I should have bid on is quite long....yet my wallett is still quite empty.
nhyone
It's a Japanese phone card. You can tell by the two small inward curves on the bottom. US$109 for one phone card? I'll pass, thank you. Anyone still interested in Misa 1/6 PVC? How about two? For a cool 9800 yen. On close inspection, the files she's carrying is different. Time to get the hard to find Misa and even harder to find variant! Edited July 3, 2004 by nhyone
TheLoneWolf
Here is a kit I would love to snag...but $300?!?! Ahh well...LINK Ugh, the Retpuu YF-19 looks very poor in all three modes. The only thing it has going for it is a landing gear (the SHE kit doesn't have one). If you want it for the sake of collecting, that's cool. Just don't buy it thinking you're gonna get a great kit.
