Battlestar Galactica Discussion

So, picked up the Pegasus micro machine the other day... Are the landing pod top and bottom halves supposed to be offset? The upper half overhangs the lower by about a cm or so to the front... there is detail on the underside of the upper half in the front and the lower half in the back on both sides. That and the symmetry make me think it was intentional...

I guess things like these are to be expected from a 3 inch, $5 die-cast toy :) ! These titanium releases really suck (with maybe the exception of the VIPER MK. II) <_< .

I want to a 12"+ Galctica and Pegasus with removable pod covers (so we can see and use the flight deck) that come with a small fighter wing of vipers... oh and a raptor or two. Not asking too much is it?

Aoshima would be good for this task, as their Aliens dropship is an excellent example of a "working" toy/display model..

Does anyone hear my cries???

EDIT - after reading this again.. it would need to be at least 24" ass the vipers and raptor would be tiny... hell make it HUGE!!!! i'd buy it! oh and it has to be a ready built - not a model kit. (hate doing that gluuing painting thing, i suck at it)

OK you knuckledraggers... its Razor SPOILER TIME!!!!!

Bullet points from a review of next month's “Battlestar Galactica: Razor” just posted at eclipsemagazine.com:

* “Razor” focuses on two periods in Pegasus history: 1) right before the Cylons destroyed the Colonies and 2) 10 months later, when Lee Adama captained her.

* Bill Adama's "early days" in Cylon War I only take up about four minutes of the movie.

* The movie pays major homage to the 1970s “Galactica.” An excerpt:

they bring back the original Cylons! The big tan “toasters” with the single roving eye, they even show us the original Cylon Base Ships, the original fighters, the original 3 seated Cylons (in the fighters) and we even get the original roving eye sound effect.

SPOILER ONE: "The film briefly centers around a faction of Cylons whose purpose is to protect 'The Guardian,' it’s why we have the original Toasters back. The Cylon story really serves as a backdrop to everything else that goes on and doesn’t rear its head until the last 20 minutes. But pay careful attention to it, because in the upcoming season this is going to become a major subplot as the Cylons will face an internal war between the old guard and the new ones."

SPOILER TWO: "At the end of the movie the Cylon 'God Guy' says 'That the crew must not follow Kara Thrace, she is the harbinger of the Apocalypse for the Human Race.' He also keeps repeating 'All this has happened before and will happen again, again, again….' BOOM!"

Like you said, they are only $5. They're good for the price, and it is pretty much all we have for now with the exception of HORRIBLY overpriced statues/resin kits.

At this scale the vipers would be about 3mm long.

True. I guess my gripes about these titaniums stem from the fact that they're so small. As it was pointed out before, it would've been nice to have a titanium VIPER in the same scale as the JOYRIDE ones.

Little spoiler from Sy-Fy Portal

"On Sunday, we [were] all hanging out in Liv's (Mary McDonnell's daughter) dorm, Mary told us that he only has three episodes left to film for BSG and is sad to say good-bye to Laura," one student told SyFy Portal.

Now...

We don't know

which 3 episodes left she has left to film, so the mystery to the last of the Final Five is still up there. For all we know, her final 3 episodes could be the the episodes at the tail-end of this season.

hey guys,

I'm saving up to buy the galactica series on dvd (i do not have cable or satellite) since I have not seen the new series before.....well actually i have seen an episode or two but that was it. I was curious if there were other combat ships besides Battlestars in the series? Not that I would want to see the focus away from a cool Battlestar and colonial vipers....but from a military stand point wouldn't it make sense to have some escort ships since a Battlestar is basically a combination aircraft carrier and battleship? thanx

Would these be of any use?

Indeed. Thanks!

Great ship. Wish it had been the Galactica all along as it's much closer to the original. Course I still wish they could have done a continuation instead of remake and if they HAD to do the remake, they'd have got Dirk Benedict to be Cain (and a former contemporary of Adama) ala the original series. And Ship of Lights, Count Iblis, etc. ah well.

Try doing a search for "galactica - second coming". This was a project by Richard Hatch to get a continuation of the original Battlestar Galactica series with some new tweaks. Hatch's idea was to tell the 'what happened next' while forgetting the awfull galactica 1980 fiasco. There was a pilot trailer made for this but i dont think it has ever beenn released online. as it happens, Glen A Larson and hatch both pitched the idea to studio execs just before Ron Moore, and it was a close run thing for a while but we all know the end of this story now... I would love to see the concept trailer for "second coming" because it apparently had some wicked evolution viper designs and some pretty cool cgi too.

If anyone knows where to see this... post a link!

Nice to see the old-school designs in action.

So, are they gonna include these webisodes on the eventual DVD's?

YUP! the TV event ( 2 parter) will not have the webisodes tied in, but the dvd release will (thank the lords of kobol)... cant wait for next fridays!
