thegunny
Thought I was getting the deal of life time when I brought what I thought was a Club M 1/48 Ultimate detail VF-1S of ebay. Turns out I was badly mistaken. It's a recast The quality is pretty good but all the original white metal pieces are in resin and there is only one decal sheet with a photocopy stencil for the fuselage & wing colour sections. What I'd like to know from those of you who are in the know about these sort of things (I'm obviously not one of you ) is what would a kit like this be worth, as I'm trying to get the person who conned me into thinking it was the real thing to give me some money back. Thanks in advance, Greg.
Valk009
I have seen the recast 1/48 Ultimate Strike kit being offered from anything between US$200 - 350, some inc. shipping, others not. In most cases, the recast kit will not come with any metal parts. The only recast kit I know of, which comes with metal parts were the ones made by G-System. Even then, the only metal parts you will get are the landing gears and not the whole set! Last but not least, most recast sets will not be offered with the full waterslide decal sheet! Neova
I have the G-System recast kit and it is absolutely beautiful. The kit is different from the original in that: 1) Some parts are merged for ease of re-casting. In some ways, ease of assembly too! 2) Decal sheet is not full for the one I have. I suspect future ones may get full sheets. Other than those two things, it is a beautiful kit with the following: a) all high quality white resin parts (none of that filler crap in there) b) white metal landing gear parts but not the wheels!!! Gr... c) detailed metal photoetch! d) decal sheet (albeit missing some from the original but enough for a strike) e) bound photocopied manual If you did not get a photoetch with your kit, you definately missed out on one of the most important component to have the "ultimate" VF-1S. I would ask for a partial refund for the lack of this! The decal sheet is not deal breaker. I would toss what you have and get a better decal sheet from Devin (Anasazi31) here.
