ruskiiVFaussie
Whats the chances of the YF-19 being in Tokyo (hopefully in a shop near the Narita airport) on the 29th November?? or the 12th December? I'm flying there. lol Wouldn't that be nice to pick one up. I'm not keen on going out far from me hotel though! We shall c.
Shaggydog
I'm hoping that you will all be pleasantly surprized by the QC on the YF-19 as Yamato have really spent a lot of effort on QC for the 19. Graham Awesome news Graham, just what I was hoping to hear. Well, ok, technically I was hoping to hear that the YF-21 is coming too, but this is good also. Fly4victory
The studio half eye fast packs have an even larger under the wing bulge. Considering the cost of the SHE kits, first YF-19 then the armor, and the end result looks like Yamato is doing a good job. Having Yang is a nice touch are they going to stuff Sharon in there too? malcos
This may have been asked before, and I'm sorry if it has, but: Do the fast Packs come with the Fold Booster, or will there be a Fast Pack kit and a separate Fold Booster kit?
Nani?!
Wha?? How do you figure? You think because a few members made the obvious "it'd be nice if the blonde guy was there too" they went and did that?? I think if a few members here did that there were probably some truly diehard Yamato designers who had thought of it long before we even knew a 1/60 YF-19 was coming. Yamato is not a god. It doesn't take much for them to decend on down upon us minions and read a couple posts here and there. And like you said, if they're die hard fans (at some point ) then they most definitely would care about what is said here. You're also underestimating us, the international market, which includes two huge markets the US and HK. Corroborating what Graham flat out told us and from being in a company myself where forums are a central hub where our customers gather, again I am adamantly sure they listen to us... I wonder if graham can confirm.
jenius
Well I'm no proponent of idolizing Yamato, I just think that the blonde guy and making it two-seats was a pretty pivotal part of the OVA. In this particular instance I think it was a bit obvious of a suggestion to think it took some forum clamoring to make it happen. If I see the toy though and it's clear it's an after-thought they pinned on I'll be much more likely to agree with you. I don't doubt that forums have some influence, I just think that influence is far more likely to be related to "look, our customers keep complaining about this part breaking" or something like that. Or maybe "There seems to be a lot of demand for this product." Design tweaks, especially after prototypes are making rounds, aren't likely to be something I would think we could play much of a hand in. Now, if they released a prototype, it was widely scorned, so it got scratched, that might be something we help with. I wonder if that's what happened with the 1/100 VF-0? Back on subject... GIFT SETS!!!! C'mon Yamato, give us some sort of break by letting us buy multiple purchases together.

Dante74
The plastic used for the FAST packs looks very cheap and low quality. And IMO the booster still looks like a lightup dildo. The YF-19, however, looks beter every time new pics appear. God that thing is so beautiful!
Ignacio Ocamica
Can't wait any longer, I paid for mine months ago!!! If the release date was pushed back to the end of the first week of december it means I'll get my YF-19 at the end of december (I hope) Well, patience isn't one of my virtues. I never bought a lemmon so I'll keep supporting first editions Besides I hate drooling over hundreds of online pictures and not owing the damn toy

Still massively prefer the SHE YF-19 sculpt. It's just sleeker with the longer nose - even if the actual product does have some liberties like squarer intakes and less detail overall due to resin. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&id=38380 Edited November 23, 2006 by ComicKaze
dizman
The release is getting closer and closer everyday! AlphaOne
I'm probably the minority here, but I actually like the look of the Yamato F.P. For some reason, I keep thinking the fast packs on the S.H.E. seem to look a little off when they ride up that far forward. Not trying to stir up any bad blood, just my $.02 Edited November 23, 2006 by AlphaOne
dafunguy
I don't know. The fold booster looks like a carry handle. I guess we can all carry our YF-19s like a purse. Will this thing have a light feature?

For some reason, I keep thinking the fast packs on the S.H.E. seem to look a little off when the wing roots overlap them. Not trying to stir up any bad blood, just my $.02 the SHE is inaccurate as well... it's not suppose to overlap that much. no grey is supposed to spill over to the top of the valk. If they made the fast packs attach to the fighter without having to bend the legs, it would have been the saving grace for the fast pack fold booster set for me... but both are off. recon
Frankly saying, i couldnt care less for the Fold booster..maybe only interested in the Fps cos the YF19 already looks good enough on its own. Really hoping for a super nova paint scheme as one of the repaints for the YF19 instead of the YF19A paint scheme. Cheers

Still checking who owns the rights to them I think. Graham Thats good!...please do try your best to convince yamato to do them. Having this two added to the M+ YF19 would the icing on the cake. As for the rights, i believe its either the modellers who came out with the initial scheme or hasegawa.
David Hingtgen
Hmmn. Wonder if they'd add in the drag chute housing for the orange one. The Super Nova schemes are a lot better than the VFX blue IMHO.
aaajin
but then again, will the markings on the supernova schemes be tampo-ed on the valk? IMHO, those arts are what make supernova schemes stand out
Repiv_Onex
It seems that quite a number of Macross Fans here doesn't really care about VFX scheme... I wonder who else like the VFX scheme just like I do? It's nice isn't it Somehow, I'm not so attracted by this "original" M+ colour scheme. I really hope they will make multiple colour schemes. Repiv_Onex
Repiv, is that a "mint" color or more of a teal? oh, I have uploaded the wrong file, that's teal. Anyway I feel that this scheme, regardless of any decent colour, is a nice scheme afterall. Let's pray hard together for a Stealth 19... and hope Yamato chooses the right colour
Dante74
I'm kind of hoping Yamato won't do the Supernova scheme's cause I wouldn't be able to choose which one to get which means I'd have to get both. I bet they'd get released around the same time as the potential YF-21. I need to get a second job.
Graham
Regarding the overly large leg FAST packs and the need to bend the intake joint to attach them on the Yamato YF-19, basically it is a compromise between trying to get the FAST packs to look good in both fighter and battroid modes. It again comes down to the extreme amount of anime magic used by Kawamori in the YF-19 design. The 19 & 21/22 use more anime magic in their transformation than probably any of Kawamori's other VF designs, with many parts either shrinking, getting bigger or completely changing shape between modes. If you look at the attached battroid mode lineart below, you can see that Kawamori has drawn the leg FAST packs covering the whole of the lower leg, right up to the tail fins. Unfortunately, this is not at all compatible with the fighter mode, as the wings bisect the lower leg horizontally in the upper 1/4 to 1/3 of the leg. Yes, Yamato could do a slimmer FAST pack that sit completely below the wing and keep the leg straight, but then in battroid mode, the FAST back would look odd as they would only partially cover the leg, leaving a large part of the lower leg bare. Like I said, compromise. IMO the best solution would be to have separate battroid and fighter mode FAST packs, but it ain't gonna happen. recon
This i agree with graham, it does look proportion and nicely balanced in the fighter in terms of looks even with the Fps...still unable to accept the dildo looking thing though. protostar8
So what's the cheapest expected grand total cost for the YF-19 and FAST pack set (I don't really care about the uninspired looking fold booster) after shipping to the US? I'm having a hard time trying to justify this expense when there are so many other things that I could spend the money on. I really wish they'd come out with a small scale YF-19/YF-21/VF-11 series like Toynami's has right now, even if the QC wasn't the greatest b/c at least the small scale ones would be very affordable. It definitely won't be affordable. Yamato will make 1000 less than people are demanding thus allowing middle men to bump the prices way up. A year later Yamato will release 500 less than people are demanding and prices will still be astronomical. The good news is the 1/72 series might start getting pretty cheap in the secondary market now.
