Cheap day at the range:

Not very far, only 50m, but still a fun and cheap day.

Also had my G19x and trying out a new holster and belt

Prior to the G-Code, my only experience with holsters was this POS Condor Tactical (airsoft I think) holster.

PA201870.JPG

Only about 1k rounds through it so far, but pretty happy with it.  Spits out all kinds of garbage ammo I throw at it, and haven't even cleaned it yet.  Normally, I'm pretty OCD about cleaning my firearms, and they're usually shiny and smelling of sweet G96 after every range trip, but I think I'll see how long I can shoot the G19x before it starts failing.

Shooting 22lr through my AR is filthy business.

I can't imagine if the can were real.  For the record, it's a fake can because Canada.  It's just an Airsoft toy that usually spin on for photos only, and does nothing to reduce noise.  With 22lr, I took a chance and shot it with the fake can on it and thankfully it didn't kaboom.

It's marshal law up here in norcal. Due to the fires. Mandatory evacuations for almost 200,000. I stayed put on my land. Packed the truck and arranged my AR's in the mix. A few years ago , during the other big fires, looting was a problem. I didn't leave then either. It's a bit awkward anyway loading guns and ammo and thinking of "evacuating "..

Can't see the sun and ashes are raining down like snow. Apocalyptic and surreal..

Keeping this close by to keep me company..BCE0BBF0-8441-4588-AEE9-DBEC243830D1.thumb.jpeg.89d26474c4c06422b068eacac379ffd0.jpeg

Also wearing this rig with surefire light, walkie talkie and hand held GPS..

The power was shut off around 8pm last night..

Looters......you'll need is a couple of roof Koreans and an alarm system that runs on it's own power that plays "Let the bodies hit the floor" when triggered.

Stay safe man.

Constantly on that. Have eyes on wind and fire maps all day. The fire was closer two years ago and i stayed. But I'm not crazy or stupid. Most of everyone else on my land bailed. I'm just holding it down with the Goats and chickens and the dog until it gets bad. Then everyone goes free..

Here's some of my looter prevention..173C7612-41B6-4A50-9448-8B27120E811D.thumb.jpeg.2483f9be35ccf494b0ebc14334c3848a.jpeg

I'm not sure what I thought. Something along the lines of mag restrictions, no folding/collapsing stocks, etc.

Nice lookin tack driver.

I see you are a fan of DD (Daniel Defence, not DD Ivanov).  Those guys are great.  I purchased a used DD Mk18 rail with missing parts and they sent me everything I needed for free.

How many mags do you have access to and are you using a belt or chest rig?

I have 8-10round mags in 556 for the two AR15's. 3-10 round mags for the AR10. I wish i 20 round mags. It's really the ideal capacity without getting too heavy or awkward. Most of my 556 mags are the prooer length anyway..

Using a chest harness with a good size dump pouch in the back. I like how it gives me lots of room for gear on my belt. The leg rig i showed before will hold 3 AR mags as well.28B8571B-7D99-4675-AA98-B01D1CF9619E.thumb.jpeg.8fa42aedaf30fa737274466bec46e2fe.jpeg

Ouch, so California is also cursed with the 10-round mag limit.  Actually, in Kanadastan, it's a 5-round limit but because of the existence of AR pistols, (pistols have a mag limit of 10), we can use the LAR pistol mags.  Some are also using the Beowulf mags, but that's another gray area the government is getting pissy about.

Ya been 10 round limit since Clinton I believe . That's when i bought my Glock 17 and threw in a few 30 round mags while i was at it:D the  2 Glock mags that cane with it are 17 + 1 in the pipe.

5 round mags would suck for this (AR) platform. 10 are bad enough..

Interesting. They should skip the old style picatinny and go straight to M-lock style hand guards and rails. That's the future of military accessory mounts.

Leaked photos of the new Howa does seem to show a slimmer MLOK handguard.

Your son is a lucky kid! When I was growing up, the only exposure to firearms I ever got was through movies and video games.

Guy in my unit getting cock.....

 DSCN1115.thumb.JPG.e4d48b87e9e2691ee8be7fdc576af9cf.JPG

Interesting backstory:

The guy on the left is known as Pubes.  Why pubes?  Because on his first day in the army, he showed up with facial hair.....except it was so sparse, it just looked like pubes on his chin.  Our staff originally called him 50 Pubes because buddy claimed he could do 50 push ups, but could not.  50 Pubes was too long so eventually it was just shortened to just Pubes.

This was back in 2010, and to this day, we still call him Pubes.
