Auctions Of Great Absurdity Thread V2.0

Ahhh - Bummer. You shoulda kept that money separate!

I will give it a go and see how I do. I think the key is taking a chance and starting the bid low to get folks into it - then hope that they start competing towards the end of the auction. May backfire though and I could miss out - we'll see...

If it were me, I would split the set up and sell them separately. I think it's a lower hurdle for multiple people to each buy a single toy for ~$100 or so than it would be to find one person who's willing to buy several toys for $300-$400 dollars.

I ended up getting $630 for the 8 piece Robotech VF-1 8 piece set - which I am happy about. Its not over $100 each which would be ideal - but I will cut my losses and move on.

After I actually got my display cases together I realized I would never display these, in or out of the nice boxes (which were by far the best part).

So they needed to go to a good home...

I got them on sale as a set from Valk Exchange - wayyy back in the day. Don't recall price but I am happy I moved them out.

A buyer from Chile contacted me and wanted a shipping quote. I took the box to UPS...

$950! Zoiks!

Only $29 to ship domestic - out already today - phew...

A little absurd since he's listing it as variable and throwing in the instructions from a V1 Yamato toy for a kit that's partially assembled and not variable. Looks like you get a hodgepodge of random stickers as well... also not from this kit.

Club M 1/24 VF-1?

It's not a Club-M, it was made by Reds, Inc. It's a very old and rare kit. Seem to me like an ok price since its far from mint.

How can I bid on that????!!! I want to!!

That's not the same kit, those pictures are from a custom from a MWF member mslz22

The guy is clearly not the original owner and is being sorta vague that the a kit so rare is pretty much butchered. Still, if he keeps dropping the price I would consider taking a plunge.

The images here are not of the 1/24 Reds VF-1S, these are from Mike Salzo's sculpted 1/24 VF-1 build up.
