VF-ZX2
All the time on ebay I see 10$ Bandai reissues from Hong Kong and/or Signapore, but the shipping is like 45$. If I could find someone to pick up like what I win and ship it to me for the actual rate instead of the inflated rate I may be able to acquire some stuff at decent prices. They make up the difference on the shipping side.
kanata67
I wouldn't mind ten or 20 1/55's at $10 apiece myself . Anybody in the military stationed there getting shipped home soon? Have the government pay for shipping

VF-ZX2
We need to find someone on this board who is out to help and not make money and just by several cases of things and have them shipped via military mail to the US.

glane21
Yeah, Phatslappy is right, they would never give you that $10 price in their store because jacking you on the shipping is how they offset the loss pricing. I wish eBay would crack down on that crap.
IIymij
the reason they do that is cuz ebay has a fee to be paid on entering the amount for item you're selling thus they pay less ebay fees but get it for the price they want by jacking up shipping. its a standard ebay seller tactic
Fortress_Maximus
I certainly do not blame the sellers, who the hell WANTS to pay more fees? Anyone want to pay more taxes? For auctions, I'd do the samething if I sold stuff b/c at least by adding the increased shipping costs in writing the potential buyer should know what is expected of them. Now it is highly possible you can still get an illiterate buyer or someone who is too damn lazy to read the auction terms. But, if the buyer doesn't know b/c they fail to read the terms, do we really need or want buyers like that? IMO these are the users that stand a good chance of messing a transaction up! I certainly do not and those are the people I want OFF of ebay b/c they tend to be deadbeat buyers who only waste everyones time and energy! On the note of buying from HK, shipping is still the issue b/c even by sea it'll cost quite a bit and the chances it'll get damaged remains high. Also, you will NOT get the $10 USD price in the store unless you buy a shitload of toys with cash and negotiate the deal in-person. I know b/c I've done this and trying to do it on-line won't work and the chances you'll run into a shady deal are high.
Valk009
Well, I live in Hong Kong and can tell you for sure that the re-issue 1/55 BanDai valks do not cost $10 a piece, at least retail wise The cheapest I have seen them for a while back was for around $20 a pop, such as the Cannon Fodder or the 1A Hikkie. The most sought after and still commanding a high price are the 1S Super and the Max & Millia combo, each for roughly $50 or more!
Fortress_Maximus
Exactly and all of that is pre-shipping! Guys face it the prices you see on evilbay is not what you can get on your own, short of buying tons in-person and bringing them back yourself and/or shipping them. Any way you look at the situation you WILL pay close to market price if not more.
Valk009
Correct, just as Fortress_Maximus says! We people over also face the same dilemma! You US guys can get at times very good deals and inexpensive stuff but overseas people either cannot get them, as the retailers do not ship overseas or the shipping charges are just so high that it does not make sense anymore!
