I hope you guys are right I want to show M+ OVA on the outside meetings since the ones at lunch are only 45 mins and it takes 15 mins for the retarded kids with no life to shut up . M+ should do the trick if not they are complete losers to think a 1994 with that kind of animation sucks(It doesnt suck) I swear I wish I can just take charge of the damn club and screw them all . Anyways if I showed DRYL alot of people would get pissed without getting the story and scream at me if the club turns out bad before the end of the year I'm quiting it since what kind of Anime club is it if they dont show old school anime ? I can still remember when we first got computers and the window unit AC's were replaced with central air...and of course there was the walking five miles through the snow, uphill both ways. Seriously though, I was in college before I saw my first real anime (not including RT, BOTP, etc) . Expensive tapes passed around and watched in dorm lobbies...good times. Well anyways we had another meeting today and we watched Samurai 7 and the bad part is that it was a free DVD from Funimation with 3 episodes...These people are either desperate or freeloaders , anyways I did become Forum Designer on the forums I'm at standby for the Naruto Skin all those losers want *sigh*. Ya guys dare me to redirect a link here, they will cry soo hardddd but I dont want to mean up to you guys. I'm then making a Macross Skin after the Naruto skin but Im on delay since I'm like the only kid at school that has Photoshop and everyone keeps begging me to lend them the CD, I let a friend borrow it for 2 days and I'm still waiting for it its been a week !!! Anyways I'm starting to think the President of the club got no taste or something since everyone is into new anime, should I also redirect the "Why I hate new anime" thread to them? When you restrict yourself to only the new, you avoid classics. It's like watching only the newest movies and skipping older good movies. Gankutsuo is a new anime I like. I like Azumanga Daioh. I like Macross Zero. Yes there's a lot of bad old anime that's got crappy animation. Some of us are bitching about how flat and cheap looking some new animation is. Too many bright inappropriate colors in some cases. Or too much bad cg mixed into the animation. I keep my eyes open for new good stuff. But I'm not going to watch crap like Naruto. Same with the new stuff. There are some great series that have been released in the past few years (Gankutso, Kino's Journey, Haibane Renme to name a few.) I don't like it when people rag on the all the new stuff either thinking there are no good plots out there anymore or whatever (Thats what I usually watch for is the plot, animation quality is second for me.) So it's not that I prefer either its just that I don't like the people who won't give it a chance for whatever reason. However there seem to be more people who won't give the older stuff a chance (at least that is my perception) when there are some great old films out there. By and large the other anime fans I've met are only willing to give a series a chance if it was made in the late 90's to present. of course this is just based on the people I've met. That's the difference. Sure, some old anime sucked. But some old anime was awesome too. Now, anime is either crap or barely passable -- none of it is awesome. If you focus exclusively on mecha anime, you don't get all that much. However, things like Azumanga Daioh and Keroro Gunso is anything but terrible. But if super robots with breast missiles are your thing, then maybe you're right after all. Until Macross Zero came along. I can kind of see it in the series artwork, but the animation itself doesn't really look like that. I would say that the plot and the characters were great. Also the setting is just beautiful. I could be spelling it wrong, it also goes by the Count of Monte Cristo (as it is a sci fi retelling of it) Try looking for it on the ANN Encyclopedia under the count of monte cristo. sumdumbgai beat me to part of it. I was thinking of doing Fanart since I got dont want to walk around school like its Haloween before Xmas. Anyways their are lots of kids entering the fan art since most are noobies some are real real talented and I wanted to draw something good. Any ideas I realy want to win a contest(for once in my life) please help me out with some with some ideas to win it anything anime or anime related is the category. If you have some drawing skill, do a portrait of a character you like. Getting proportions right are difficult I find. Hands and feet are extremely difficult to draw. Practice copying an illustration of a character by eyeing the illustration (not tracing). Then do your drawing. I recommend practice copying some characters from a manga you like. Or, alternatively... Pick up a manga by Utatane Hiroyuki or Urushihara Satoshi, practice emulating his style, then draw a big boobied bouncy girl like Mai Shiranui. And maybe a made up pilot I can have up to two sumbissions so...I need more ideas (No offense)! And just to tell ya my drawing skills are ok not great I need to draw something that may not be talented as someone elses drawings but in terms on how it looks and inspiration its better. Robo Lincoln is up to you but the perspective should show Roy towering like a god over his vanquished foe. (I did suggest this as a joke, but if you did it I bet it would be pretty funny.
