ha ha look what I won on ebay and you didn't

Recommended Posts

Yap, I luckily get that HCM vf-1a with only $42. The HCM series is actually my

most favorite, even compared with 1/48. How abt you guys?

I found myself staring at the Hikaru VF-1S standing next to JM. That's a HCM isn't it?

Looks like it to me.

Personally, and you'll probably hate this answer, the Toynami MPC Veritech is a much improved version of the HCM so even though I own one HCM, they are far from my favorite.

Oh Happy Day! :rolleyes::lol:

For months now I have been looking and hunting for a Shin Version VF-0A. After learning that HLJ had disscountinued them I thought I was sunk and never going to own one.

I just won it on e-bay and total (shipping included) was only $178.65

Much love e-bay!

Allright!

Picked up a Bandai Strike Valkyrie in box for a great deal!

Just $81.01 for a valkyrie with complete armor and box w/ both styro inserts!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...N:IT&ih=003

Not as good as my $10.00 MIB Gakken Mospeada Ride Armor (large), but I will still take it!

That always happens to me. Whenever there is a good deal i go to bid but then i notice "Will only ship to the US" written in the description. It's so frustrating.

Whats worse is when they just put contact seller for details and then you see the "Only ship to somwhere you dont live" or you contact them about the shipping cost and they reply after the auction has finished. that has happened more than once to me.

Most people are intimidated about shipping outside of the USA.

1. Cost. The international shipping costs are much higher, and if your buyer pays with paypal it has to be trackable.

2. Customs. Your item could be held in customs for weeks on end. I have heard of buyers using this delay to file charge backs.

All these extra risks, may not be worth it to some sellers.

This is right. Unfortunately it really adds to the cost and hassle of selling. So much so that it may not be worth it for a seller to go through. I've never had a problem with the buyer paying the costs, but I've had some other hassles. One item I shipped to S. Korea. Packed it really solidly and sent it off. When it arrived, the buyer said it looked like someone had kicked it around and crushed the packaging. Then he complained about the condition of the item, so I refunded his purchase price, but not the shipping costs. That wasn't so bad. The next time I shipped international, it was to Brazil. It was an expensive item and I shipped it with USPS, it had tracking of a sort, but the buyer let it sit in customs soooo long that the USPS removed it's info from their website. The buyer filed a claim with PayPal and they sided with him. I had the item tracked, and I got written confirmation that the item was delivered three days after PayPal closed the dispute in the buyer's favor. I submitted the info to PayPal, but since it could not be viewed on-line they say it wasn't valid. So I'm out $300+ and the Brazillian scam artist gets his item for free. I'm still arguing with PayPal over it, but it's not going to come to any good. I can't see how they can protect the buyer, but not the seller at the same time. As a seller, I'm the one who pays for their service, I am paypal's customer, not the buyer, but I still get shafted because of their backwards policy.

That's why I won't ship overseas anymore. <_<

I never understood why people care so much about a box, I've read multiple discussion and ebay feedback about the box condition, not the box item but the box that is send in, I mean, it's a freaking cardboard box, the content is intact but the box is a little beat up, who cares, some people can be very anal or do anything to try to get out of paying, for me, shipping is a pain in the ass, I have to find really good reliable deals so that when shipping add up to my country is doesnt come out assrape expensive, I get several items that make up to 3 stops getting shipped to me with the box ending a little beat up but the content intact and I'm a happy camper...some people this days, what do they want to do with the box?' are this things collectable too?? geez...

hmmm...I got a question, I'm not really a big ebay buyer and I usually loose on ebay bidding wars unless I'm ready to dish some serious cash

but I got a question if someone can explain this to me, I'm bidding on this item, I had already placed a bid but got outbid on the last minutes, so I wait until the last seconds to make a much higher bid, I'm marked as the high bidder but when the bid ends I get totally snipe, no big deal I wasn't ready to pay much higher, but when I check the bidding history, the winning bid are two bids from the same guy, one that doesn't outbid me and the later that does, the time it shows is 2 minutes before my last bid, how can this be?? I made my final bid in the final seconds wary of snipers and still get snipe somehow in a way I don't understand

any ideas?

Yes, boxes are collectible as well. Some people care about having the whole package pristine: box, item, and all. It's part of the completeness of it all.

As for the second question, the bidder may have placed a a second higher bid before your snipe, in order to prevent sniping.

Yep, the box is part of the whole time-warp nostalgic appeal. For me, a nice pristine toy in an undamaged original box hearkens back to the days when the now "vintage" toys lined the shelves at my local toy store, when I was unable to afford any of it as a kid. I don't place as much significance on the boxes of any of the newer stuff, but when we're talking about Takatokus and Gakkens and such, I want as close to showroom fresh as possible, and will pay a little extra for it.

After a few sales based scams where PayPal/eBay wouldn't give me my money back I'm always a bit dubious about buying from certain countries. as far as selling is concerned Ive only ever shipped to Europe. I would rule out any thing I consider 3dr world and am immediately suspicious of anyone who asks for po box addresses. Ultimately I would prefer straight bank transfers. Paypal and eBay don't care as long as they get the profit.

I had an auction not too long ago that I bid on and was the highest bidder for the last few days I got the you have won message and when I went to pay for it I found I was not the winner ????!!! but the winner was paying less than the bid ammount I had put in so my bid should have gone up to counter his. I mailed eBay to ask and also the seller. The seller wasnt sure what was going on as he'd seen that I was the winner too.

eBay just sent some cut and pasted info about autions and how they work to me and closed the matter. I then dealt with the seller outside eBay and got the item.

To this end I have come to realise that the staff at eBay are clueless and it's not worth the time taken to email them to get answers.

Thought I might win this at a bargain since it sat for less than $200 until the end of bidding. Price more than doubled within the last few minutes. Congrats to whoever got it!

That's like $28 total for two books that only cost about $5.60 each. He's nearly doubling the cover price at $10. Could be worse, though, I expect. J-List told me they weren't going to carry it (the fools).

I really miss the old days of THIS IS ANIMATION, BEST HIT SERIES and ROMAN ALBUM...

Yeah.. the This is Animation series were great. I sure hope Frontier gets something like it.

Not on ebay.. but once I nabbed a 1/3000 Takatoku SDF-1 in box with complete accessories for $60 at World's Best Comics in Sacramento. The SDF-1 itself is mint but the box it shipped in was worn badly. I see the same wear on other Takatoku toys so I think they just didn't use good cardboard/ink.

(edit: forgot my story!)

 Guilty as charged!! I am the new owner of this wonderful custom valk. IMO, I thought it was a good deal. Normally, it would cost more than $550-$600 (including the Super VF-1J, decals and custom works). I was hoping it will go under $300, but I did expect it will go over $400 since this is an unique valk to add to the collection :) .
