Looking for some cheap toys.

Before any of you flame me, let it be known that my son is only 4 and can't read subtitles. I got him hooked on watching Robotech and now he won't stop asking for the toys that are shown on the DVDs.

So what I'm looking for are some transformable toys that I can buy for him at a good deal. I'm looking to spend maybe $30 on one, and it doesn't have to be in any perfect condition. I don't need a box, I don't need stickers, I don't need instructions, and I certainly don't want to shell out the money for a Yammie.

If you can help, let me know.

check the for sale section. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=15538 for instance.

or this guy who has pretty good prices. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=15955

and I'm sure somebody will offer up a functional jetfire cheap enough if you wait. I'd think the bandai would hold up better in a childs hands than a yammie.

what? your son stupid? can't read subtitles yet? sheesh. HAHAHA j/k!

I see absolutely nothing wrong with watching Robotech. I watch Robotech. Nope, can't see any damned difference between Macross and Robotech. Robotech kicks ass! I still watch my Robotech DVDs every so often. I never take out the animeigo DVDs. Don't care much to read the subs.

I wouldn't give one of the "other co" Banpresto's to a little kid, they're not very sturdy and their arms& legs pop off heaps. And lots of removable hands and heads to choke on. I reckon for price, durability and toughness a reissue 1/55 would be perfect.

What kind is it? A reissue?

Hello, yes it is a reissue.

The only Macross toy's I'd *ever* recommend for children are Bandai 1/55ths. My Jetfire is still in pretty decent shape after almost 20 years, and I PLAYED with that thing hardcore. Joints are still tight, knees and hips are still perfect. It's one of the sturdiest and best designed toys ever in my opinion!

I'm sure you can pick some up cheap, given that few collectors want them now a days.

but those that do hoard them Mwa ha ha ha

If nothing comes together for you in a couple weeks I'll assemble you a cheap jetfire that will hold up as a jart. I kinda hope something pans out though as I sooooo hate parting with jetfires

He's into TF too, so how much would you let one go for. X-mas is going to be fun this year!

  • 2 weeks later...
I guess Santa came early this year. We let him have the Cannon Fodder this morning, and now he's going nuts. Thanks to Ronin777 for helping me out.

Glad I could help and glad your son is happy. I think I am keeping my vf-1a hikaru for my son when he's a bit older. :-) Thanks for the feedback as well. Enjoy!
