Hasegawa Battroid/Arii Armored Kitbash Done!

Ok here's my first really custom model I've ever tried, a kitbash of the Hasegawa standard battroid and the Arii GBP kit. What a pain in the ass this was, at one point I got frustrated and put it on hiatus for months.

Anyway here's the completed pics, the how to build is in the how to models section.

Last Pic, closeup of the front of the legs. The lights on the legs are partially countersunk into the legs. That was fun to do.

Nice one G72. How did you go with the weak hip joints? Did you fashion something yourself that was stronger?

I like what you have done with that old Arii kit, now people will be scrabbling for the few of these that are left. ;)

If you had to rate this project from 1 (opening a box and hey presto all done) to 10 (sculpting your one kit from a blob of putty) what would it come in as?

Cheers,

Berttt

Hey guys really glad you like the model, makes all the hard work worthwhile.

On a difficulty scale from 1-10 I'd give it a 9 (10 being totally from scratch, granted that's just my perspective). Pretty much everything had to be modified on this sucker.

I didn't change the actual hip joints, they seem fine.

The arms on both kits (these were the worst)

The front and back chest pieces on both kits

The upper and lower leg pieces on both kits

The lights on the legs

The fast packs on the Arii kit

The backpack on the Hase kit

The Head lasers

The arm missiles were total scratch builds

Scribing all the custom panel lines on the leg missile hatches, arms, and chest

And all the decals I pieced together from different kits (always my favorite part)

Again really glad you all liked the project.

In all seriosuness, is that a sarcastic comment or not? I was just curious... as that's an interesting past time if you're serious...

I was serious, for some reason I love doing decals.
